The EC850LCD Ecologic Series Uninterruptible Power Supply from CyberPower comes equipped with twelve electrical outlets. Three of these outlets are eco controlled outlets designed to conserve energy by cutting power to USB connected peripherals when that computer is in sleep mode. This UPS also comes equipped with six battery- and surge-protected outlets and six surge-only protected outlets, providing both surge protection and battery backup in the case of a power interruption. The integrated LCD display lets you view a variety of characteristics within the UPS including input and output voltage levels, battery capacity, load capacity, and more.
The included sealed lead-acid battery comes with a typical recharge time of 8 hours along with a 10.4 minute run time at 210W and 2.15 minutes at 425W. The integrated surge protected outlets are capable of absorbing up to 526 Joules keeping your attached electrical devices safe from harmful spikes in electrical current. Also included with this UPS is CyberPower’s own PowerPanel Personal Edition software. When this software is used with a compatible Windows-based PC, you can instruct the PowerPanel software to save open files, set the machine to hibernate mode, and safely shut down the PC when the backup battery is depleted.

nice power supply, It does the job. The only complaint is the eco mode, it’s complicated to enable/disable. I set it up, with the usb cable provided, to control two displays and speakers power. After turning the computer on the displays went on and off multiple times. I also have an APC BE650G 650 VA which has a dedicated eco mode button and it’s more intuitive…

I had a different unit that served as a surge protector and battery backup for my security cameras. After a few years, the other units battery became faulty and it constantly beeped. It had a rather unique battery that was quite costly. I searched around and found this current unit from BH and it was just what I needed at a much better value. Not only did I get a better product, but I also got it for a better value than just replacing a battery on an older unit. I had been reading reviews from BH and I’m able to say that everything I read was true concerning outstanding service and faster than expected arrival times of products ordered. I am very pleased with this company and I shared their website with another friend who also has a surge protector and battery backup for his security cameras. This unit is Compact, and also has a digital readout. It is also aesthetically appealing to the eyes. If I ever need another product like this, BH is definitely the place that I will get it from. I did not start out to want an uninterruptible power supply, but only a very capable surge protector. Once I read about the benefits of an uninterruptible power supply I was convinced I had to have one for my equipment. Initially this unit was on back order and I was sure getting one would be taking a very long time. Thankfully the day came when B&H gave me the email saying my Cyberpower EC850LCD was on it’s way. I’ve had it protecting my computer, Time Machine and external hard drive. So far just this week the unit gave me the time to shut down safely after a short electrical blackout. I know this was a wise purchase and I am grateful to B&H for their commitment to honor my order.

The unit is used for our internet connections. Our power flickers on and off way too much for a first world country. We got tired of having to reset our internet every time. So, I connected this and we are much happier. it has 6 UPS and surge protected plugs and we’ve found a use for each one. Very happy so far!

This is the 4th CyberPower UPS I’ve purchased over the past 6 years. All are still in service. The oldest is 6 years old with a replaced battery pack, a 5 year old 850 series still in service used for extended power failures on a home security system. A two year old 1500 series to backup an iMac, and a three week old for a Mac mini! In a few more weeks, another EC850LCD to backup a communication stack at another location. Very reliable and solid performers.

I’m now running 2 of these for small electronic areas. The first I purchased I used with my Entertainment setup to protect it against power loss. Not to keep it running but to prevent it from just turning off with blips and brown outs. Was having some issues with the power briefly going out and this is a great tool to keep the system on and protect it for a bit. I then placed another on a computer system with monitor and a switch. Again to help with the power issues going in and out. The total up time on the computer and switch is like 3 minutes but that is fine to protect again some power loss. Pros: – solid device. well built. – plugs are arranged in a good pattern for multiple devices and sizes. – has small built in backup that helps with brown outs. Cons: – Would be nice to see something this size that had a long battery life. like say 20 min. at the power I draw on it. Here is hoping batter technology improves in the density area sooner.
