The PR1500RT2UN Smart App Sinewave UPS from CyberPower is a 2 RU rack/tower convertible device with line-interactive topology that provides battery backup and power protection via sine waveform output, plus surge protection for corporate servers, department servers, storage appliances, network devices, and telecom installations requiring Active PFC power source compatibility. It is built with a pre-installed SNMP card that provides remote system management and configuration via a standard web browser or network management system (NMS). It comes equipped with an output capacity of 1500 VA / 1500W, features an input voltage range of 75-149 VAC at 47-63 Hz, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to help correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, and has integrated circuitry for EMI/RFI filters. This Smart App UPS provides an integrated LCD panel that rotates 90° for easier viewing and provides information on 47 different settings, including UPS stats, setup and control management, and testing options.
When running with a full load, this UPS can power devices for up to 6.5 minutes. When running with a half load, it can power devices for up to 18.2 minutes. It can be recharged in around three hours and offers eight total NEMA 5-15R outlets, all of which are equipped with battery and surge protection. Four of the outlets are equipped to handle critical loads, and the UPS can absorb up to 2430 joules to keep your devices safe against surges and spikes. Other connections offered are a NEMA 5-15P input plug with a 10′ cord, serial, USB Type-B, Ethernet RJ45, Emergency Power Off (EPO), and more.
This power supply is ENERGY STAR qualified with GreenPower UPS Bypass technology for reducing energy consumption and heat buildup to help lower energy costs. Included with the power supply is the PowerPanel Business Edition UPS management software, which requires minimal system resources and monitors the status of the UPS to ensure it is working properly. When a power outage does occur, this software automatically saves open files and powers down the system into hibernation mode. When your PC is running in hibernation mode, the power supply will offer a longer runtime. This CyberPower UPS provides a lifetime connected equipment guarantee of up to $400,000.

This unit has kept my server running through several power drops and my customers would never know the power went out even for a second. I haven’t tried the software for it yet but plan to, the power usually comes right back anyway so i’ve never drained the battery fully. This has saved my little internet radio station, without it i’d spend about an hour re-launching software for every 3 second power outtage.

I bought this unit to replace a similar 1 RU model that was making a ton of noise. This one is quiet and seems well built. Quite heavy of course, but it kind of has to be.

I use this power supply in my mobile recording rig. It brings my rig to the next level by providing me with certainty in the available power, and alleviating any concerns I may have about whatever location I am on, and what the power situation may be.

The feature set is rich and the power specs are optimal for a 15amp circuit.

Unit displayed Output Short and alarm sounded. Two devices connected had no power. Very little load with these devices. Unit was returned to Cyberpower with a prepaid shipping label, however I had to deliver it to UPS as supplied label did not allow for pickup. Cyberpower commited to a new replacement. During the three weeks of operation, the performance was as expected and it certainly appears to be a good product, however the jury is out until I receive a replacement and get reliable performance.

Very well build product. After calling Cyberpower, and looking at their spec sheets, I found all 1500 models were not equal. Some are 1050 watts, some are 1500 watts. This is the 1500 watt model-even though it did state 1050 watts in the BH website. I notified B&H on this fact. With the 1500 watt models, this model apparently had the longest runtime during power outages, so you get what you pay for.

Great UPS, saved my bacon a couple of times during power outages.

Setup was fairly easy to set up and it has a program that allows for system management/checking loads. It also includes cables for communication between a computer and the UPS. It appears to work fine when unplugged (tested by unplugging and then booting computer), but I have not tried letting the battery get low to check if it shuts down the computer. It was a bit heavier and bigger than I expected. However, not realizing the size and weight is my fault for not checking. The size and weight are also understandable due to the size and weight of batteries. Not an issue, but thought I would mention it for others.
