This is a must have tool for any wood working shop. Identical to Klien tool, but half the price.

I bought this cheap awl to use as a punch because I am in the middle of moving and have no idea where my good punch is hiding. Anyhow, I needed to mark a couple of holes to cut into the deck of a stainless steel sink. This was adequate for the purpose, but needed resharpening after making two marks in stainless steel. Still, it’s a good value for it’s price. Casting is a bit rough, but it does the job and would be perfectly good for marking wood.

US made product. Although recommended for marking on soft metal, it is an excellent marker for working with wood or paper.

I like that this awl is all steel and no wood, fits in hand well as well as tough enough to scratch metal or stick in wood. You can also pound on it with a hammer if needed and takes the abuse.
