Been a professional firefighter for nearly 19 years. Got one of these tools about 8 months ago, we welded a 2′ section into the middle to make it 5′ overall for general utility meeting a happy medium between forcible entry and salvage work.In addition to the extra length we squared off the shoulders of the fork and paired it with a light 4.5 lb flathead axe as kind of an officers tool package.I’ve found it to be a great on lightweight construction for gapping doors, clearing windows, security gates etc.during initial walkaround and softening of a structure. For heavier constructed commercial type doors I will still go to a proper set of irons but for lightweight residential that is predominant on the west coast this tool is quite well suited. Just need to keep in mind that it’s not a single piece forged tool and be realistic about how much torque you can place on it.For roof work we take it along with a Rubbish Hook and our other tools and it adds another dimension to the versatility of our tool compliment giving us a hook with some added knockdown and leverage when we need it for louvering stubborn sections. As far as overhaul demo goes this is hands down my most destructive tool and is very efficient for clearing sheet-rock from walls and dropping ceilings.I’m very pleased with it overall especially for the price. The only issue I’ve had recently was working in tight quarters so we just ordered a second one for our engine company that we will keep at it’s original 36″ length in order to give us some greater versatility.

This tool is a great asset in the fire service. It is small enough to have on your side but big enough to do the job at hand.

This is good for light duty jobs. The metal is not very strong. Used it to force a door and the forks bent easily.

As a firefighter this tool is a great value for its price, a similar tool elsewhere costs 3 times as much. I have modified 2 so far adding hook points and having the handle linexed for a better grip.

I use this bar at work for overhaul and often times my go to bar if somebody else is grabbing the halligan bar. I have forced roughly 10 or so doors with this and it has been dished out a beating on the fire ground and has still held up nicely. I sandblasted mine and coated it with oil to prevent rusting. Great bar for the money!
