   We purchased this Slim DVD writer/reader along with our new Dell Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 as the acomputer does not come with one. It plugs into a USB port and is a nice device for installing programs, copying info and photos from the computer. If you plan on buying a laptop without a DVD device, this is just the thing.

    This opticle drive has worked well so far, but it is a little flimsy. I still have a Dell laptop from the year 2000 and, yes, the thing weights a ton, but it is remarkable how sturdy it is. Now everything is cheap plastic. Everytime I load a DVD or CD ROM into this thing I’m afraid that if I press down to hard I’ll break it.
