This little gadget became a necessity when I bought my new Dell laptop. They no longer have the CD/DVD trays in them. I am a photographer and I have all of my photos burned to disc and to access them, I needed this little thing. It works great and isn’t too much of a hassle to use. Though I am now switching over to the memory sticks.

Works perfectly – exactly as I intended to do. Connects to and is recognized by my PC quickly and easily. No difficulties in identifying and utilizing any optical disk I feed it. Since Dell no longer incorporates an optical drive in its notebook PCs, this is a must-have accessory.

It has a nice sleek design but the DVD shelf that slides in and out with the DVD in it seems very flimsy……Like it is going to break if you are not careful. I’ve only had it for a few weeks and it works fine but I’m nervous every time it pops out or I slide a DVD in.

My husband and I, both in our 70’s, are having to spend roughly half of each month out-of-town assisting with the long term care of my mother-in-law who now resides in a nursing home. While there, we stay in her very old and modest trailer with no TV or internet service and very unpreditable cell service. Needless to say, it is rather boring in the trailer, and I decided to buy a Dell USB dvd/cd rw drive to connect to my little Dell XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 laptop which I love! We have many old music cd’s and dvd movies that work flawlessly on the little external drive that was super easy to install. We are enjoying it tremendously!! Thank you!

The drive works fine, but you’re bundling it with a computer that requires you to turn off your security is the most stupid thing ever. If you are going to bundle a drive with a computer, HOW ABOUT MAKING THEM COMPATABLE. MOST useless bundle ever made.

Needs a longer cable so that it can be set on a firm surface because it vibrates when in use. Could also use some rubber suction cup feet to keep it from sliding around when in use.
