When you really have to access those old CDs or DVDs that you burned years ago, you need an optical drive; there’s no way around it. This is especially true during the holidays when you may want to review those old pictures. It seems like it wasn’t that many years ago… but really, it was. I added this to my laptop purchase because I knew it would come up from time to time and I am glad that I did.

I use this to burn cds to my laptop which has a CD player but does not always work then transfer the music to my iPod. it works perfectly as I would expect and it is a great price so if you have a new laptop that does not come with a dvd drive, get this.

The disk drive works well. The only drawback is there is a vibrating noise when the unit is working, I wouldn’t say it is overwhelming but it is present.

I plugged it in and it worked. It has given me an option that I haven’t had previously to purchasing this. I teach in different locations and carry a CD will lessons on it from the company I teach for. Not everyone has a disc drive, but everyone has a computer. This external disc drive has filled a big hole and has solved an ongoing issue for me. I recommend this drive!

This product didn’t work with the laptop it was suggested with. I bought a chromebook, and this drive was suggested, so I bought it, but it doesn’t work with chromebook. I tried to contact someone to help me but never got a reply, and wasn’t able to return it due to lack of reply as well. Might work well with any other laptop, but I don’t know since I can’t use it.

Not every software program is as easy as a internet download. When your laptop doesn’t have a dvd drive, this little unit comes in handy. It’s compact size makes it convenient to store.
