Seems to work pretty well so far. Tested with one data disk and one music CD. A bit surprised it used a mini-usb instead of micro-usb so I’m short one USB port on my new Dell to have everything plugged in at once but not a big deal.

Exactly as described. This product is lightweight and only needs an USB port to connect. If you have old CDs/DVDs lying around but don’t have a drive, this is the product for you!

Since my new computer didn’t have a DVD Drive, I bought this. It works great. I still have some software on disks and family picture albums, so this was a good solution. It fits nicely under my new Dell DeskTop. Now, when we update our laptop there will be no need to have a DVD drive in it.

The DW316 driver is good and comfortable and handy. Can be used when you travel. Aside from playing cd, dvd and burn video, may you can upgrade the unit driver that also can be compatible reading blu ray movies. Thank you Dell Company. Looking forward for new innovation and technology.

I’m not a fan of external DVDs/RWs but had no choice with my new Dell XPS 17. After installation of software and connecting it for a trial run it worked great with movie viewing as well as burning data to disc; played music off an RW Disc I burned years ago beautifully…

Hard Drive too large for home users, Dell does not offer any change, this is a bad feature. Also, USB flash drive version 3.0 has been available dating to at least 2010 and Dell is still putting USB flash drive version 2.0 in their systems. Why, version 3.0 is downward compatible, no need to limit the higher USB version. Note, the last AiO desk top purchased in 2011 AiO 2330 also had limited USB version 3.0 slots. Why!
