Really too light for use on a desktop. Works well but has to be loaded with two hands. I just wanted my internal drive replaced and Dell does not sell that.

This unit is very lightweight and by far the loudest disc reading device I’ve ever owned. It’s quite manageable though, if you watch your media with the volume way up or place the unit on top of something very soft. I gave it 3 stars because it may just be this particular unit having a defect in the dampening material/construction, otherwise 2 stars.
