   I feel that the cord is too short. I have limited amount of desk space and would prefer a longer cord so I can place my new DVD drive on a different surface from my monitor.

   This device has been working perfectly so far. I think I would have preferred a longer cord to make the connection, though. The thing that concerns me is that the “glides” for the tray holding the disk are so delicate, I have to always be extra-careful to not push it down when putting a disk in. Some downward pressure on the disk is needed to click it onto the spindle, and one must hold the edge of the tray with the fingers while doing this to make sure the glides don’t get bent or broken. This part of the system with a built-in disk drive in my older laptop isn’t as delicate, and I like that.

    The device is probably fine for what it is. But the telephone salesman told me it would read blurays, which it will not. Returned.

    The CD/DVD player worked well but the software that came with it was not compatible with the Dell laptop I bought. The DVD install was not allowed to run because the software was not ‘authentic Windows’ software.
