It works well as a DVD player, but the whole thing is cheap and flimsy. If not used very carefully, I can see that the shelf (that holds DVD) is easily broken. Need a platform that the shelf can sit on when open. Would prefer better quality, even if the price is higher.

Probably not the fault of this light-weight, flimsy piece of flotsom, but why isn’t this stored inside the laptop? Now I have to use my port for the disk player so I can’t use my wireless mouse at the same time. This is a problem with the laptop: poorly designed.

When you buy a new dell desktop, there isn’t an optical drive to load programs on disks you may have so you need to buy this.

the dvd drive works well with multiple disk formats. it is slim and easy to use with just a usb plug-in. the drive does not have an eject system so you need to press a button to open the disk platter. this drive is a good value if you need an external dvd drive.
