Prompt delivery and works fine. Not a 5th star because the cable, though long enough to connect to a laptop right next to it was not long enough to reach a PC a reasonable distancer from the desktop. Ad had not indicated this shortcoming.

Very light well made product that performs as one would expect for a DVD player. I would have given it a 5 star rating except that it has a standard usb plug. That is still ok except that the new laptop I purchased with it has the new usb-c sockets that needs an adapter for it to be used. In all fairness, Dell does supply an adapter with the new laptop but it would have been nice to just plug it into the laptop and not deal with the dangling bit.

I ordered a new laptop, but an integrated optical drive was not available as an option in the configuration. Therefore, I ordered the USB Slim DVD+/- RW Drive as an accessory item as a substitute. I still have many CDs and DVDs with data files that I need to access, and this external drive seems to satisfy that need. Installation was simple with plug and play. It reads and writes CD and DVD effectively at a good speed. It came supplied with CyberLink Media Suite utility software for CD/DVD burning and media editing. i recommend getting this external DVD drive if your laptop doesn’t come with an integrated drive.
