The Delta 8 in. Variable Speed Bench Grinder features a cast iron base for durability and reduces vibration during operation. The work light with a separate on/off switch and flexible goose neck provides illumination for set up and while grinding. A water tray to help keep work piece cool while grinding.

It’s a good grinder, I need the adjustable speed for the work I do and that overrides and negatives. The cons, I had to true up the wheels. The assembly instructions are laughably bad. The grindings tend to kick out the front instead of the back, so it gets all over your shoes, etc, instead of going into the nice collection area behind that I made for the grinder this replaced.

The grinder arrived on time and well packaged. It was easy to assemble and runs smoothly. The tool rests leave a lot to be desired. I purchased a Wen grinder stand, mounted it on caster wheels with brakes then made my own rests. Added a wire brush but had to add spacers and remove end cover to run.

I like the grinder. It’s fairly quiet and works well. However, I have a complaint with dealing with Delta. One of the grinding wheels was broken – the grinder could have been dropped during shipment. I contacted Delta to replace the wheel but they sent me a 230v switch for a 5hp saw. It took Delta 10 days to send me a shipping label by email to send the switch back. Yesterday, after a month I finally received the grinding wheel. That is way too long to wait for a replacement.

I had this grinder delivered to my local Home Depot store for pick up. It arrived in good condition and the package was not damaged. Thus grinder has all the features of a more expensive Craftsman but at less cost. Assembly was fairly straight forward and easy. It runs true right out of the box. It has plenty of power. It is fairly quiet. I am very happy with this purchase.

Stones are a little wobbly, not perfectly balanced. I installed a wire wheel and had to get a 1″ adapter to center it. Overall it is well made and heavy. I may not need to mount it down with bolts to the workbench.

Very smooth running…. variable speed is a big plus for me. I use a wire brush on one side and the option to slow it down helps alot, and is just what I was shopping for. seems to be well built. Delta products have always been a good product and been using them most of my life, the very reason I choose it. I love it and if or when I need another one I will no where to shop! Two thumbs up!
