I looked long and hard at scroll saws. The most popular by far mid priced scroll saw is the Dewalt. It sells for about $500. This Delta was on sale for $300. I read every review I could find in the woodworking magazines and watched every Youtube review as well. There’s an upper echelon of $1000 machines including the Jet and other very highly rated machines. In the middle are the Dewalt and the Delta. Then there’s the low end including Wen and Harbor Freight for about $100.The difference between this Delta and the Dewalt are: 1) The Dewalt has a square edged worktable and the Delta has a bullnosed worktable, making the effective width of the Dewalt table a couple of inches wider, and 2)Blade changing on the Delta is easier because it has a locking pin feature to lock the upper arm up out of the way while changing blades or threading a blade through an internal hole in a workpiece, one of the major raison-d’etre of having a scroll saw. Scrollwork often involves a lot of stopping, lifting the upper arm up out of the way, and threading the blade through a new hole/internal area to cut out. The DeWalt has no pin lock to hold the upper arm out of the way. I watched a Stumpy Knubs video on scrolling and noticed they had jury rigged a spring loaded lever to hold the Dewalt arm up while changing blades. That and a Wood magazine review that gave the same rating to the DeWalt and Delta helped me pick the Delta. It has a longer warranty, is 3/5 the cost, and actually functions better.

This scroll saw is great! Once you figure out how to put in the blades and get the tension set, it’s a great.

Great product especially at the sale price. Seems to be well made. I purchased a magnetic sewing machine light to provide high intensity lighting at the blade ( a must). Variable speed, adjustable blade tension, and no pin blades are all positives for this scroll saw.

Sooooo easy to use compared to my old one. Would maybe like to see more air coming out of the air hose but not a big deal.Ordered it online on Friday and it arrived at my house on Saturday…. wow

Have only used it about 3 times, too cold in my garage still, but am impressed with the ease that it took to use it for the very first time in my life. Granted I researched scroll saws for a good 3 weeks before I decided to choose this one so I felt like I could jump right in. I forgot I needed to learn more about tension, speed, and types of blades to use!If you buy this, and I recommend it over others for price/value, do read about how the instructions do not include how to put the whole thing together. Assembling the table to the bracket was not as straightforward as I thought and took some noodling to do. Once together I am looking forward to lots of great gifts for grandkids and maybe to sell as well!

I like the ease of installing the blades and that I can use very narrow blades. It’s quiet and cuts very well.

It was harder to put together that I thought it would be. It is really quiet and easy to change blades and the price was great. There was no warranty card in the box though.

Works great. The weight is nice haven’t had to clamp it to the bench yet. The only CON I have found is the bolts holding the motor had come loose, took it apart and added some blue thread lock. Have not had a problem since then.
