Great general purpose baking dish. I’ve used it when roasting some duck legs, photo attached. But also suits things like a lasagne, or even a large rhubarb crumble. The dish cleans pretty easily and goes in the dishwasher which is an essential for me. The handles have a nice deep groove which makes them more grippy than average. It’s also a decent size so holds a decent number of servings of things like lasagne. A nice design which goes with our plates etc. Good for sitting on a wooden board on the table and serving from there.

This oven dish fits in well with all other Denby similar designs. I now have six designs over sixty years of buying Denby, all intermingling on the dinner table and looking amazing.

This large rectangular oven dish by Denby is a true must-have for every kitchen. The size is one that you’ll return to time and again. If your household has only one person, you’ll want to roast one meal and have leftovers for two days. A family can use this as a single-dish meal option any night of the week. The size allows for quite a bit of food to be layered in without making the dish itself difficult to handle. Because you can see everything well, you can adjust as you go. I often make whatever’s in the fridge, and I discover new things to add in while I’m chopping. I’ll start out wanting roasted carrots and end up with something like the pictures attached. For this dish, I layered in carrots then added a zucchini I found rolling around in the bottom crisper drawer (and we all know how those finds can be…scary or uh-oh, better use that right now). I decided the dish would need more sweetness because of the zucchini, so I chopped up half a fennel bulb. Then added half a bag of frozen peas because, well, at this point, it can be enough for leftovers, so add another starchy component and make sure you have leftovers!Topped it with pepper, and used half the liquid from a jar of beets to keep the dish moist. Soon enough, there was a meal that my husband and I devoured with some sliced smoked ham. Yum!I love this oven dish so much that I’m cooking another “found” meal right now…carrots, parsnips, boc choy, and one cup of water poured over a meat spice mix I sprinkled heavily on top. Can’t wait! Now for the technical stuff: made of pottery, so it will be durable and beautiful for years to come. Pretty color and spare design means it can be set on the table to serve from directly on a casual weeknight or for a fancy dinner party. Can be used in the freezer, so you can layer in lasagna, freeze it until you want it, and then put the dish directly in the oven. Weighs in at just over 4 pounds, so really an easy dish to manage considering its size. Super easy to clean, even when you’ve baked on juices or spices as seen in the picture below…comes right off with a scrubby, and then drop the dish into the dishwasher for the rest of the cleanup.

So useful for making lasagne, so many others dishes are too small
