This is so beautiful! The detail is great. Unfortunately, the writing is so small, it cannot be read. Other than that, I am very satisfied.

Depicts the great sorrow I have in the loss of my dad. This piece is so emotionally moving. I really love it! Statue is a good weight, and substantial in size. I only wish it was a bit larger for the price, but still well worth it!

The Angel of Grief statue in Rome by William Wetmore Story is the most touching expression of grief and loss I’ve seen. This statuette is not an exact replica but I find it just as beautiful and equally powerful. I keep it beside the urn of my loved one. The angel is a testament to her memory and conveys my grief, and “holds” it for me until the next time I can sit with my memories of her. Anyone who sees it will know how loved and important she was. It’s not a perfect piece. There are minor imperfections, such as small bumps on the wings and some rough edges in the tight areas under the arms. The fingertips appear to have been reattached. However, these things are largely unnoticeable to me and don’t detract from the overall meaningfulness of the piece. It has high detail and I’m impressed by the craftsmanship that went into making this delicate statue. It appears to be hand-painted.I already treasure this angel and will continue to do so. I recommend it to anyone who is grieving or who wishes to adorn a loved one’s memorial. I hope these photos and review help you.

There are so many different copies of the original tombstone sculpted by William Story for his wife. Only wish it had the inscriptions on it that you would see at the Protestant cemetery in Rome, Italy. I have collected miniature angels for nearly 50 years. I am thrilled to have this angel and she elicits various personal emotions each time I look at her.

This is a wonderful tool to help someone who has lost a loved one. The grief is so great in this statue that it symbolizes loss that another person has felt and makes one feel less alone. I have purchased several of these and have given them as gifts to those who need a “place” to put their pain until they are ready to again feel it.

Our granddaughter always loved the Angel of Grief statue that she saw in the catalog. She even drew it. I should have bought it for her years ago. She died in September, and her drawings and pictures were displayed at the funeral, including the picture of the Angel of Grief. I had to buy it for my daughter for a keepsake. It hurts to look at it, but we had to have it. It’s lovely.

I ordered this for my sister, since she had always admired the life-sized tombstone of this sculpture in a cemetery in St. Louis. The sculpture is lovely, and the desk-top one did not disappoint. My only issue is that it looked as if the arm draped across the top had been repaired. It wasn’t obvious enough for me to return it, but it still looked as if it had been broken at one time. My sister loved the statue and that is what matters! I have ordered from this website since then and probably will in the future. They have a tremendous selection of unusual products.

This piece is absolutely beautiful, and when I read that the sculptor created it in memory of his wife I had to have it, since, I lost my lovely bride of 63 years in November of 2011, as something wonderful to remember her by. The service was great and it was securely packaged. She had purchased many things from Toscano for friends and relatives, so I felt like I was dealing with old friends.Chuck

I bought Angel of grief as a gift for my Mom. This is my dad’s 5th Christmas gone from us. I love it. She’s beautiful. I had one of the priests, at church, bless it for her. I can’t wait to give it to her. She arrived in perfect condition.

This angel monument is a most flawless concrete representation of grief in all of its ultimate implicit and silent surrender. I have bought many over the years — as acknowledgement, support, and understanding for bereaved family and friends suffering with the loss of loved ones — and for myself for comfort with my own sorrows. This angel is a beautiful, simple, inspiration of compassion, consolation, and strength.

The quality seemed good, but mine was on the yellow side, the image looks more like the classic beige/white marble look. So I found that to be misleading. I also pictured the image to be a little bet bigger then it actually is.

I have a poster “Angel of Grief” and when I saw Toscano’s Angel of Grief, it matched the poster perfectly. It’s a beautiful statue. I just feel it’s a bit over-priced.

Was purchased as a visible symbol of our sadness over our mother’s passing as the angels rejoiced over Mom getting to Heaven however the Angel of Grief mourned for mankind’s loss. It enabled me to tell the tale of William and Emelyn Story
