worked very well with 3/4 bit. missing one star because if you push it all the way in the chuck releases the bit which may remain in the hole

I have had and used several rotary hammers over the years from different manufactures, all of which did a good job of drilling holes in concrete. The Dewalt D-Handle SDS+ 1-1/8 Rotary Hammer is a step above all the rest in a couple ways. For general use drilling holes in masonry, it did an excellent job, not unlike many I have used in the past. What sets it above those however is the shocks system. The vibration (or lack thereof) was a night and day difference from previous rotary hammers I’ve used. It made such a big difference that I was able to do twice as much work before needing a break. It especially great for applications like removing ceramic tile using a chisel. I was blown away at how much more work I could get done with the Dewalt. In the past, 30 minutes of chiseling and my hands felt like they were going to fall off. With the Dewalt, I could keep going. While I didn’t purchase one, Dewalt does offer a dust extraction system for this rotary hammer. If I did a lot of interior work I would consider buying one. In terms of durability, I used this rotary hammer for a month on several jobs and never had a single problem. Overall a great unit and worth your consideration.

I bought this about two months ago and it has been a superior hammer drill and cement breaking tool. I’m renovating my house and the versatility of this tool is amazing.

We were once a fan for another company’s hammer drills, but today we made a change to DeWalt!

The moment I took aim I new this was going to be great. Starting with the balance and light weight it was like holding a compact drill. The power set me straight. We went from drilling in very cured concrete to some very tough porcelain tile and this drill never blinked. Truly a great addition to my arsenal.

We mostly use it for drilling concrete for anchoring walls, etc. On this job we have a house built in 1894 that has a rock foundation. We used it to drill through the floor and rocks to run CAT 5 wiring. It performed well. It’s easy to use and saves my crew lot of time and pain. It is a great tool.
