The DEWALT D28499X 7 and 9 in. Angle Grinder features a High power 5.3 HP (maximum motor HP) 6,000 RPM motor with overload protection that provides higher operating speeds under load. This grinder is designed with a rotating rear handle that provides improved ergonomics in cutting and grinding applications. A low profile gear case allows for work in tight areas.
- 5 position side handle provides improved ergonomics for specific applications
- Epoxy coated field and armature provide long service life against abrasion from airborne debris
- Keyless adjustable guard provides tool-free guard adjustments, increasing productivity
- Automatic turn-off brushes shut down the tool when brushes need to be changed to avoid tool damage
- 6,000 RPM provides optimal material removal with 9 in. grinding wheels
- 2 wire double insulated ‘S’ jacket rubber cord provides increased durability and life in hot and cold climates

This is a truly awesome angle grinder…makes all my 4.5 inch ones look like the toys they are. Mine came without the cap nut, flange backer and spanner – would have been helpful if that information was provided at purchase, as well as HD offering these as accessories that could have been ordered together.

This is NOT for the meek or weak!!This grinder is ALL BUSINESS and REALLY puts some serious grinding action on any material/project!!I have a welding business and sometimes need to grind large areas of metal in preparation for welding. This grinder is everything and more than I expected!! It gets the job done with little effort and record time.Be sure to use HIGH QUALITY grinding wheels!! Also wear a FULL face shield and use THICK leather gloves…I use my welding gloves. Work smart…grind outside or wear a dust mask or respirator.Be safe..work smart!!Can’t beat this grinder!!

Works great and fit with Makita shroud. 7 inch concrete grinder disc works great with it. Just doesn’t have a lock on switch. Seems very durable. Hope it lasts several years.

I’ve used this tool at work for many years, it’s taken all of the abuse I can throw at it. I’ve recently bought one for use at home. It is a workhorse. Tough to withstand mistreatment, gutsy enough to power through finishing jobs quickly.Would have gotten 5 stars but did not come with a case/bag a accessories or anything of the sort. Very industrial offering from Dewalt.

I used 1 of these at work. Took a lot of hard use and dropped it a few times. Real powerful and didn’t bog down. Liked I was able to move the handle to the top besides both sides. Im a larger guy so i didnt have a problem but for a person of lesser strength this grinder is quite heavy.
