Light, consistent, and the reversible hanging grip is a nice feature. Unlike cordless versions, the footprint this leaves is much less and leaves less on the back end to clean up for a nice clean finish on trim carpentry.

This replaced a Porter Cable unit lost in a fire. Works good and is a bit quieter than the old unit.

Worked great after I took it apart to correct an assemble defect in the compression chamber (bent rod). Very happy with it now.

am installing crown molding. Where there is no backing to nail to I bevel a 2 x 3 that is installed in back of the crown molding. I purchased the finish nailer because I needed nails that were 2 1/2 inches long. Then I can also use the same nailer for 1″ nails. And any nails in between. The nailer is very versatile.

Never used a nailer before, but this was a breeze to use installing my hardwood floors. Never jammed (knock on new floor). Light weight and safety features are a plus. My 13 year old daughter used it (wearing safety glasses and hearing protection) without a problem.I’m now looking for more projects to do so I can use this some more.

Have begun a series of home improvement projects, and knew a finish nailer would be a fine additon to my tool collection. Though I didn’t have any opportunity to test any of the units, I did visit a number of stores to at least inspect the units for build, heft, weight and feature set, and the Dewalt D51257K came out on top of my evaluation.Subsuquently, after the unit arrived, i used it on my first job, replacing exterior door trim. Unit performed flawlessly, with no jams or malfunctions.I’ll be adding additonal nailers to my armory, and will be looking to DeWALT for those too.

Bought this nailer to replace an old Paslode that crumbled inside and to hard and costly to replace parts. Pretty much went by reviews and I own several DeWalt tools that seem to perform well. Ordered online and bought through Home Depot. Delivery time was exceptional considering during Covid (2 days). Giving it 4 stars because I needed it to finish a trim job so took it to the site and it would not fire the nails. Luckily, I had a brad nailer with me that I used to finish the job. The DeWalt nailer would just shoot a small “piff” of air and no nail. I did not have time to figure out what the problem was on the site, but at home I discovered that the firing pin was stuck. IT would not let a nail enter the firing chamber and the pin would not move. So, I put a little oil on it and used a screwdriver to move the pin back and forth. It seemed to loosen up and I moved the pin up and push the nails in so as there would be one nail in the firing chamber. The nailer was able to fire the nail and several more. I just hoped that it would wear and loosen for the next job. I have not had any problems with it since. The second reason for the 4 stars is that the nails do not slide into the nailer very easily. There is a flat spring that puts pressure on the nails as you slide them in. Once in, you must pull them on through or use a set of nails to push them down into the gun. Not a big issue but keeps it from getting a 5. Also, I would have liked to see the case designed to hold some nails. There appears to be plenty of space to have molded a small block for storage. So far it works good and would recommend it.

Really a great gun, love the size and lightness. Very happy it is a 16 gauge nail gun. Did all my floor and door moldings in my 3200sq foot house.

Over the years I have switched my entire tool line to DeWalt and have not been sorry. I remodel houses and need reliability and quality and I get both with this nailer. I like the fact that the air discharge port can be pivoted and it is very easy to adjust the depth of the “nail set”. I was also impressed with how easy the manual was to read and I appreciated the clarity of the safety features highlighted in the instruction manual.
