This heavy duty DEWALT 18-Volt Cordless Jig Saw has a keyless blade change system that accepts universal and T-shank blades. The tool-free, adjustable shoe slides forward, backward and bevels 45° in both directions. It includes a variable speed trigger for greater control and faster cutting. An adjustable dust blower keeps line of cut clear of chips.

This tool is very good quality. It is also well made. The only issue I personally find with it is that it is SO HEAVY.. Using it vertically, for hours, to cut fiberglass, I soon had to switch to my ancient 110vac jig saw that is light This is a long life 18 volt battery, they are the best I have ever found in battery life; BUT I would be OK with changing the battery more often to have a lighter tool in my hand.

This jig saw has many well thought out touches, not the least of which is a blower to keep the line visible when making a cut. (The force of the air can be regulated if necessary.) If a tilted cut is needed, the base has detents, and a positive lock at 90 degrees. The orbital range is adjustable. The base is non-mar firm plastic. This jig saw will only hold the newer t-shank blades. U-shank blades will not work at all. Given that a jig saw may be called upon to make unusual cuts, the fact that this unit is battery powered makes it far more convienent to use without having to worry about a power cord. This saw always feels easy to control when in use. A great tool.

Great addition to my 18v collection. Like the sawsazl the jigsaw does use alot of battery even the xrp batteries go down but the lithion ion last alot longer but thats to be expected. Never the less i have been using it for a month with only regrets being i should have purchased it sooner. The blade changes are quick and super easy, the foot or table adjusts up to 45 degees in a snap, has a variable speed trigger, oscillating bladefeature is nice, and the blower is a great addition, plus the saw is very light weight.

Two years ago my Mother Was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer right after I got engaged. She loves the beach and now since it was hard for her to get to the beach, I wanted to bring part of the beach to her. So used multiple Dewalt tools to make her a custom wooden surfboard (1st one ever). The 18v cordless jigsaw was precise in the cutting and design. It was flawless, smooth, fast and felt like I was drawing when I made the cuts. Was designed the board using fight cancer colors and gave it to her on her 75th birthday. Needless to say, she loved it! Something that was hand made goes a long way. I also used a Dewalt 18v circular saw, then a sander as well. It was the 1st and best thing I have built so far. And I am a beginner. Now I have made a fence out of pallets using my reciprocating saw, hammer drill, impact driver and have bigger ideas, so I can’t wait for more tools!
