The 3.0 batteries have a little different footprint than some of the other Dewalt batteries, they are a little bit longer. Well built like the other, runtime is as expected with a 3.0 ah. It did better than expected with the heat gun. The main reason I got the 3.0 is for work lights and they provide a good enough base support.

I purchased two 20v 3Ah Dewalt batteries. They weigh a little more than the 1.3Ah batteries but they are well worth the length of extra run time.

The battery life indicator is super convenient.The battery life itself is better than the 1.3 ah, of course, but I was not over-thrilled by it’s run time.Still, even with that, at a sale price at this time it was a purchase I would recommend.
