Ideal for plumbers, electricians and HVAC installers who need to drill large diameter holes in wood. This drill provides exceptional power, control, durability, and runtime with its 60-volt brushless motor, mechanical and electrical clutches, and two variable-speed ranges. Equipped with the innovative bind-up control feature called E-Clutch system, this drill increases user control in bind-up/stall situations by sensing a stall during use and managing torque accordingly.

I’ve had this drill for over 4 months now and I am very pleased with it. As an electrician, I don’t drill as wide of a hole as other trades, but I have had to go through some crazy stud packs with this and it just goes. The company I work for has a different brand of cordless and corded drill and I have watched guys get there bits stuck into stud packs with no hope of getting the bit back out. Throw the DeWalt on that stuck bit and it comes right out. Most of those stuck bits I’m able to leave on the 2nd speed setting. I did have one where I wasn’t sure if the bit would come out because it didn’t budge on the 2 setting, but once I shifted into 1st, the drill just went! I’m so pleased with my purchase and so is my shop. After seeing the performance, the shop bought two to upgrade on a couple sites.

I use this instead of a Makita hole hawg now. I love the clutch system in this drill, and it drills just as fast as the corded one I used to use without dealing with a cord. The only issue I have is that when drilling out any houses 2000+ sq ft you will blow through batteries. And the weight can be cumbersome with the higher ah batteries but it makes up for it in mobility.Pros -powerful-fast-reliableCons- can be heavy-battery life when drilling a large volume of holes
