This is the drill I have been searching for. I am an electrical contractor. I have drilled complete new construction roughs with only changing battery once. No wrist rockers thanks to the e clutch. And no batteries stopping for safe after 5 holes like the cordless hole hawg. a must buy time saver.

Dewalt flexvolt tool line is going to set new standards for heavy duty tools. This stud and joist drill has some weigh, but not heavy, just a good solid feel which it needs to do a good job without fighting the tool to do the job. this drill has the power to please most all plumbers and electricians. This drill can hurt you just like a corded drill.

I bought this drill 6 months ago, and so far so good. I’m a plumber and needed a good stud/joist drill. The drill has plenty of power for larger hole saws, and the clutch gives added safety. The flex bolt system is another plus, I am able to use the batteries on my 20v tools.

If you are a tradesman buy it. Been plumbing for 15 years and this tool is perfect. Milwaukee has a right angle drill that does decent but the battery life and power is much better with DEWALT. However it is heavy but that’s why God invented apprenticeship.

As a plumber everyday we drill holes. From 7/8 to 6″. This drill is great for jobs where electric isnt available yet or limited outlets. 1 full chargered battery goes all day depending on how many holes. Although for the price. You can buy the milwakee super hog(corded) and a set of self feeder bits. I will say my wilwakee does has alot more power though. And fits alot better in tighter spaces such as in between ceiling bays and wall studs . The dewalt is much wider and the placement of the trigger often puts my hand in danger of stamming against the beam.

I was told this drill would chew through wood like a beaver, and it does. It’s outrageously expensive, but has proven to be worth every penny.

Great drill, I have had it for a week now and have drill 60 holes with it and just changed the first battery. Being a plumber I have drilled holes from 1” to 4-3/4” and handled them all just fine. The electric brake is also nice and keeps the drill from getting away from you. Has the same power as my Milwaukee hole hawg but without the cord I love it

Fantastic stud drill. Mountains of power and made roughing in electrical and plumbing a breeze. Used less than 2 full batteries for the whole 3BR/3Bathj project. The hammer drill has been great for punching large holes through the cement block exterior. It too will run all day without putting dent in one of the flexvolt batteries. The light has the option of staying on for 20-minutes at a time after depressing the trigger – this was really helpful when wiring in the basement. I would tap the trigger, and set the drill down nearby. Plenty of light to illuminate the ceiling while I worked.
