The DEWALT 60-Volt MAX VSR Stud and Joist Drill with E-Clutch System features a 1/2 in. chuck and brushless motor that provides corded power in a cordless solution. Ideal for plumbers, electricians and HVAC installers who need to drill large diameter holes in wood. This drill provides exceptional power, control, durability, and runtime with its 60-Volt brushless motor, mechanical and electrical clutches, and 2 variable-speed ranges. Equipped with the innovative bind-up control feature called E-Clutch System this drill increasing user control in bind-up/stall situations by sensing a stall during use and managing torque accordingly. This combo also comes with a bonus 20-Volt MAX XR Angle Grinder featuring a brake, E-Clutch System, and Kickback Brake. The brake quickly brings the wheel to a stop in 2-seconds or less when the trigger is released. The E-Clutch System automatically shuts down the motor when a wheel pinch in detected. These 2 features working together to shut the tool down without user interaction, called the Kickback Brake. - DCD460T2 – E-Clutch is a perform and protect feature that detects reactionary torque caused by a bind-up or stall and reduces speed to a manageable level until control is regained
- DCG413B – brushless motor requires no brush changes
- DCG413B – brake stops wheel in 2 seconds or less on average
- DCG413B – kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall, or bind-up event is sensed and the electronic brake engages with maximum force to quickly stop the wheel, reduce the movement of the grinder and shut the grinder off
- DCG413B – anti-wobble hitch pin
- DCG413B – 2-stage trigger requires 2 actions to activate tool

Feels good not being attached to a cord while drilling studs in new home construction for electrical.

Excellent cutting tool for various projects. I first used it cut stone veneer. No problems cutting the stone and made quick work of the project. Since then, I have used it several times doing typical “grinder” jobs!

I’m using it for electrical work .Drill has plenty of power. It is heavier than a standard hole hawg..Battery wears out in about 45 minutes of drilling ,and take 1 hour to charge . I am able to drill out a small tract home if both batteries are fully charged.. If you need more time than that buy extra batteries

I was told this drill would chew through wood like a beaver, and it does. It’s outrageously expensive, but has proven to be worth every penny.

This drill is as powerful as old school Milwaukee hole hawg. I am an electrician and I can drill out an entire 1800 sq ft. House on 2 batteries. Batteries take about 1/2 hour to charge. Never going back to using a corded one!

Was impressed with the power this tool had. I used it on a small job and it worked the same as my corded grinder. Didn’t have to use it long so can’t say much about the battery life.

Excellent machine, and improvement over my prior cordless grinder. But I am baffled as to why the company thinks a paddle trick is better. It’s an awkward way for the hand to activate the device. A good old finger trigger would have been just fine

I’m an electrical contractor in Eastern Shore Maryland. I own three of these stud and joist drills.Features I like are the high and low speed clutch. This enables you to use the drill on a ladder with much better safety than the old electric right angle drills.
