Great, I also have an older Dewalt 18vdc hammer drill. After years It still works great but it was too big to fit in the space I needed to drill a a few holes and install a plank. The size of this is perfect. The price is almost throw away. The tool is not. I love everything about it. SMALL, light and POWERFUL. Feels good in the hand. Why 4 stars? The charger. It is a DCB107. Even the small batteries that come with this kit take 45 minutes to charge. Don’t get me wrong; I have drilled some really deep holes with this drill. I like it. It did not run out of power on the small batteries that came with it. I wish they had a list of every charger, charge rate and what comes with what kit. Many times they don’t.Overall it is a great buy.

Perfect for smaller jobs. Smoother the 1/4 hex drive impact drivers with better torque control. I also have a DCD996, which has a lot more torque, but is harder to use on small jobs. The included “black” batteries do not come with fuel gauges and the charger takes a long time (~1.25A/hour charge rate.). Better still it’s a great deal in the end as I got the kit, kept the drill/driver but sold the batteries, charger, and bag as “never-used/new” to reduce the effective tool only cost (because I already have a 1/2 dozen XR batteries and fast chargers for the rest of my DEWALT kit.)
