Better than last model due to locking chuck, only need one hand to tighten chuck because the rotation locks when the trigger is released. Angle at very end of case helps getting drill into tight spaces. Off it could be made even thinner, even better.

I’m a woodworker and have to get into tight spaces sometimes to drill or drive screws. This product is great and very powerful and I highly recommend it. Very well constructed and the light also comes in handy. The only thing I would request of DeWalt is to package the kit with two batteries instead of one. The case is big enough to include the extra battery.

This tool/kit is good for small jobs. For longer use a second battery is recommended. As to the torque, I was using it to drill 5/8″ holes in 3 stacked together SPF 2×4. I found that the best was to pre-drill with Bosch Daredevil 1/2″ spade bit and then drill the hole with 5/8″ drill bit, any drill bit will work. I assume that 3/4″ holes can also be drilled in SPF, 3 stacked 2×4. As to a stronger drill, perhaps, Milwakee Angle Drill would be the choice, or even more powerful drills.

Surprising amount of torque! The drill has no problems driving nuts and bolts. The deep set hex receiver in the quick release chuck is genius. I have used this tool as a close quarter drill for running LED tape inside cabinets. I’ve used it as a low-profile driver to set retainer screws. A+
