Used it once with about 20 nails and it was fine. I think the DeWalt “DA” nails are key. I noticed the battery is not XR as indicated in description and the box. Any one know why?

this is the second drill, same model I have owned. great for around the house applications. I let material get into the armature so I ruined the first drill. has great torch setting light enough to not make my arms ache holding it out at arms length. I home improvement guy, but I think this drill can hold up to professional use, see the batteries and charger and the just buy a replacement drill for around $119.

Works great, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Just remember to get the right nails. This one uses “DA” style 15ga nails, not the “FN” 15ga ones. There is almost a 10 degree difference in the angle between the DA and FN nails. If you use FN nails in this gun, it will jam and you could damage it. I believe that is the issue with a lot of the one star reviews on here, and people complaining about jams. Dewalt makes both DA and FN nails, so just pay attention when buying.That being said, I’ve really been enjoying this one. I bought it primarily for door jambs and baseboards and it does a fantastic job. This is my second cordless nailer, my other one is the Dewalt 18ga, and I’m hooked. I’ll be replacing all of my other pneumatic guns with cordless ones in the near future.

This drill is now 8 years old and still runs like a champ. It’s the perfect size and weight for daily use. It might not run a 5″ hole saw but it’s a fantastic tool for a GC. Light enough to carry on my tool belt all day and still strong enough to sink a 6″ lag bolt.
