This is a great drill. There were two reasons for giving the drill a less than perfect rating. The chuck is difficult to set bits at any speed. The bits tend to get caught between the teeth. And, the reversing switch is tough to use at times while using during single handed operation. I would recommend this drill to anyone looking for a powerful, and reliable tool. I am sure that once I am used to the little quirks it will be perfect.

Great drill. One thing I would note is that the picture shows a belt clip but this drill does not come with one. Other than that, I good powerful drill.

I’ve only been using it for a couple weeks, but it’s been rock – solid. It has incredible driving power and drilling power.

I use this drill at work 10 plus hours a day, and also have one at home, this is the very best drill/driver I’ve ever had, and hopefully ever need, scooping up another one as we speak for back up.

Very powerful hammer drill that will destroy concrete, wood, steel, and anything else you need to drill. The drill has a very nice feel in your hands and is very easy to use.

I bought mine in a kit last year with a driver and haven’t really abused it at all. But now I have really put this thing to the test. I got a 30″ long 1 7/8″ auger to bore holes in the yard. I have the 3 AH batteries and although I didn’t count them I think I get about 75 holes per battery on a fresh charge. Anywhere from 8-20″ deep. Rocks and roots cause the bit to drive in fast but this the drill cares less then my arms. I ordered another one because the price of a charger and 2 pack of 4 AH batteries costs the same thing. Not sure I really need a spare but why not get the drill for free. I think battery life is great. Not sure I will be able to bore holes for four batteries worth of juice without taking a good break but they charge in less than an hour. the 4 AH should take only 10 minutes longer to charge from what I have read. I wouldn’t mind the smallest 1.5 AH battery for my driver though for putting up drywall. The lighter weight would be nice in that case.

I have upgraded from the 18 volt system of DeWalt, as I had purchased their 60 volt flex / 120 volt Miter Saw for remote miter saw cutting before I will have 120/220 volt service to my property I recently purchased. With the 60 volt automatically downsizing to be with the 20 volt system (and having the ability of 4 times the operating life per charge using the 60 volt battery on 20 volt tools), this gave me the opportunity / need to purchase the additional tools I require for the property as 20 volt tools and not pay the higher first cost of 60 volt cordless tools. This drill works even better than 18 volt drill I had before with more power and life and better features.

I have several battery drills, many of which are Li ion battery driven and my dewalt takes them all to school AND takes their mommas out to a nice steak dinner afterwards. I can only speak from my own experience but having said that, the 4amp hr batteries are as rock solid as the rest of this drill. I keep my second battery in my refrigerator to prolong its life for use a year from now bc i found myself never needing to switch batteries on the job. Ive buffed and sanded paint off metal docks for hrs (putting down the R***d power drill) with a wire brush on a single battery! Well worth the ectra weight, which still is very reasonable and managable. I love having three speed settings to choose from instead of two…or only one! In the market for a new cordless drill? Spend the money and get this one because you will most certainly be more than impressed with this baaaad-mamajamma…

Light weight but a lot of power.

Bought this for my electrical contracting business. I opted for Dewalt because I had the 18v unit which lasted a lot longer than this one. I was going to buy the Milwaukee but decided to keep in the same line even though there was a difference with batteries going from 18v to 20v. I wish I bought the Milwaukee. This drill worked fine and took care of what I needed, but did not last that well. I hope to find a better product in the Milwaukee unit.

I’ve owned this drill for about 8 years now. Never had a problem. Even when dropping it off a ladder or using in the rain. Very dependable.

Great product. Powerful and in its own carry case.

It will drill through concrete and brick, but not really through the stone. Can take some beating no problem.

Powerful as well as versatile. If you are on the DeWalt platform this is a must have. The metal chuck makes this a 5 star tool.
