Just as powerful as I had hoped. It is also way more durable than my last drill, due to the chuck assembly is mad of all metal.

I’ve had my drill for a while now maybe going on three yrs I’ve lost track. It is rugged easy to use and powerful. Im not a big fan of the electronic clutch but it does its job. I prefer the old still clutch. Im sure this clutch is designed so you don’t burn out the motor but it can be annoying when driving larger lag bolts. All I hope is that dewalt stops redesigning their batteries, I’m getting tired of buying adapters just to use my older tools. I do recommend this drill it’s built to last I’ve dropped mine from roof tops and it has never failed not even a crack and barely even scratched it; not recommended but nice to know it will hold up.

I bought this drill/driver as a Christmas present for my son. He already has some other Dewalt 20V tools that he bought in a factory package but didn’t have a drill. I went to the Dewalt web site and compared all of their 20V drill/drivers as well as those that work as hammer drills. I knew he wasn’t going to be drilling into concrete, any – if at all, so I excluded the hammer drills from my comparisons. This particular one has the highest torque rating of all of the models and it’s priced the same as their lowest torque entry. My son loves it, so far.

This one is a beast. By far the most powerful cordless drill I have owned since my first 12v Craftsman in 1989. I’ve driven lag screws, structural screws, timber screws, masonry screws and drilled two-inch holes without a hitch. I don’t think I have used the third, fastest, speed. You might think that the included second-hand grip is overkill, but I can testify that it is necessary to keep your wrists intact when tightening bolts or snugging lags. It took a light touch to keep from snapping off large Tapcons. The speed selector slide switch is a bit sticky and the drill is heavy for continued one-handed use, but it’s not meant for light duty. You’ll want a lighter tool for fastening cabinet hardware. My other Dewalt tools have been durable and I have three, 5-year-old, 5ah batteries that are still going strong. After about six months of hard use, I dub thee a winner.

This drill has the speed and power of a corded drill, I am very pleased with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this drill, even to professional contractors.

The most solid and very well performing drill I have ever owned, everything about this drill speaks quality. My only suggestion is to include the off feature for the light.

I bought this drill about 5 years ago. It still runs today like it did when I pulled it out of the box. I went with Dewalt because my uncle bought a combo set of Dewalt drill, impact, circular saw, and reciprocating saw 15 plus years ago and still uses them today. Even after all the heavy use and abuse they have endured it amazes me that they still perform.

I have several Dewalt tools and am pleased with all of them. I needed a drill with a side handle to operate my Eskimo Pistol ice auger with at least 18 volts and 4 amps. I already had a charger and two 5amp/hour batteries, so ordered this bare drill. It’s perfect. Drill and battery weigh less that 5 pounds and the pistol is less than 4 pounds… beats the heck out of lugging my 40 pound gas auger! This drill packs up easily and powers the auger through 20 inches of ice in under 10 seconds! And at 68, I can lug it across the ice so much more easily! Bought the same drill in a “kit” (Drill, tote, charger, 2 batteries) for my son in order to share my joy!!! Instead of having a gas powered auger I can use a few times, I have a drill I can use all year!

If you need power, look no further. This thing packs a massive power load. It’s a good idea to practice with the e-clutch before diving into your work. I used this to drill through I-beams and joist and it doesn’t even big down. Tim the Tool Man Taylor would love this lol!
