This XR (R) Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill has integrated Bluetooth (R) technology, so you can connect to the DEWALT (R) Tool Connect mobile app with or without a Tool Connect and trade; battery. You can also customize the tool to your preferences and specific applications. The Tool Connect and trade; and Inventory Manager app help manage and track tools, material, equipment, and other assets. Know where everything is and who has them. Even receive tool diagnostics. Use Tool Connect tools along with Tool Connect and trade; batteries, the Tool Connect Connector, and the Tool Connect Tag for a complete inventory management solution.
- Last seen feature helps reduce wasted time and money by providing the street address of where your compact drill/driver was last in range of your tool connect and trade;-enabled device
- Easily and quickly assign tools to jobsites and users on the tool connect inventory manager software, increasing accountability and reducing lost tools

It’s so much stronger than the 996 and is a Fantastic tool. Unfortunately the Chuck isn’t up to par and it needs to be re tightened almost always when using. But it’s a awesome tool. RND dept needs to step game up w the chuck tho….

After dealing with awfully product from competing brands, I purchased the XR hammer drill for a project. My only negative finding is that the chuck texture will give you a mean scratch or blister if you try and remove a bit while the 2nd or 3rd gear is engaged without wearing gloves. That’s about it though. Awesome power and a great onboarding variable light are it’s best features IMO.

Bought this for the sole purpose of drilling through masonry to put in anchor for screws and I couldn’t not be any happier with my purchase. This drill has plenty of power and doesn’t shy away from anything. Started using it now for drilling with 3.5” holes through wood to run linesets for HVAC and had to learn to keep it straight otherwise I could break my own wrist from the smoking of power making holes like a hot knife through butter.
