What a great tool. This Dewalt Hammer Drill/Driver can pretty much drill through anything. Very much a work horse tool. It has more power w/Flexvolt batteries and is also compatible w/Dewalt 20 V MAX, heavy duty 1/2″ ratcheting nitro carburized all metal chuck w/carbide inserts for superior bit gripping strength. The Led mode is 20 times brighter and gives more light in dark and confined spaces. The extended worktime with LED spotlight mode has a 20 sec. shut off for the extra time needed. This optimize tool has a 3 speed transmission and 11 torque settings. One thing I might add is this tool is very heavy so when first using play with the 3 speeds so you don’t loose control of the drill. Another great product from Dewalt.

This 20/60-volt 6-amp hour battery is very versatile. It is not as heavy as my 9-amp hour battery that I have in my circular saw so if I don’t have a lot of cutting to do it is the better of choice because it doesn’t weigh as much. Also, when I have lot of drill or impact driver work to do it provides me with all of the power I need and to run these tools for a much longer time than the battery they come with. I like having the green LEDs available on the back of the battery so I can check the level of charge left in the battery. The charger works well, is quick and the indicator lights let me know how the status of the battery.The only complaint that I have is the packing of the battery and charger in an excessive amount of really hard to cut plastic seems unnecessary. A person could get hurt unpacking the battery and charger.

Picked up this flexvolt kit yesterday. THE GOOD: The drill is AMAZING! THE BAD: Different battery than advertised in picture. I received a 1st generation battery, instead of the pictured, 2nd generation battery. Never had this issue with a Dewalt product before.

I read the reviews but was hopeful that the wrong/old model battery issue was addressed but despite repeated customer complaints, it’s still advertised as the newest 2nd Gen. battery, but they are still using the good ol bait and switch, sending out the 1st Gen. Honestly this issue is a simple fix, send what you are showing we are purchasing or change the photo! Incredibly frustrating to see yet another company set their integrity aside for a buck. Honestly how many customers have to call you out for it before you fix the problem? We all make mistakes, it’s really how you go about making things right at the end of the day.

I love tools, especially kool tools. This Dewalt 1/2 inch hammer drill is just what you need in your tool pack to make any drilling in concrete a breeze. I didn’t realize how much easier a job can be with a tool like this. I ordered it without the flex battery and use my smaller battery but the flex battery will make the tool perform even better. I always liked Dewalt and this drill does not disappoint.

This hammer drill is just what we needed for some basement cinder block drilling for some planned renovations. Hopefully you’ve read the contents, and know that you need to purchase the battery and charger separately, unless you happen to already own one of the compatible battery types. We have quite a few tools running off of the 20v Max battery, and this adds to our collection. As always, this DeWalt tool is sturdy and heavy-duty. You will not be disappointed.
