The DCE151B 20-Volt MAX XR Cable Stripper enables THHN and XHHW cable to be quickly stripped up to 4, without the need of a knife. Using the appropriate bushing the cable stripper works on both copper and aluminum cable, covering a range in size from 6 AWG to 750MCM CU and 900MCM AL. This is one awesome tool. I am a tool nut and this one is probably my favorite. I have a friend that helps me with many of my repairs and he said he was going to steal it! I love center-mounted LED for workplace illumination. Makes the job so much easier. I have the Dewalt battery for my other Dewalt tools. I am so grateful to have this tool. Thank you.

As a professional electrician I run cables all day long. I was excited for somone like dewalt to finally make a cable stapler that shot insulated staples without jamming. Dewalt did just that! Unfortunately they failed in one area that forced me to return it. The stapler works great and can jump from different size cables without skipping a beat. The one flaw is it can’t staple single cables tight enough to keep them neat. When I run cables they are staight as an arrow. I hammer in a staple and then pull the cable tight and hammer in another staple. You cant do this with the dewalt stapler. A single cable can slide back and forth in the staple. This caused my cables to look messy and sloppy. As a professional I can’t have this. I need my cables to look good. I really wanted to love this tool but I couldn’t justify the price for somthing that couldn’t work well on it’s most needed application.

I love this stapler for doing NM cable installation. (I hate driving electrical staples by hand). I wish it were a little smaller and lighter, but it’s powerful and does the job well. The built-in LED lights are great, too. It’s rugged and the battery lasts days on a charge in my experience.

Impressed in the reliability and ease of use so far. 4 months. In the past my manual staple guns for romex have always become dysfunctional . Battery life is more than long lasting for under house use. Staples are easy to load. Great for remodel and rough in new home wiring.

The DeWALT 20V MAX Cordless Cable Stapler is built for residential wiring applications, primarily fastening Romex brand wires and cables to your 2 x 4 framing. This stapler has a cable guide that helps to drive staples over cable. When stapled to a single cable it leaves a little space between the cable and the staple. It is capable of stapling 14 to 10 cable gauges, 2-wire & 3-wire. It can staple double stacked cable, excluding 10-3 cable gauge. The compact frame and lightweight design are ideal for tight spaces. A center-mounted LED light helps to eliminate shadows and illuminate the work area in low light conditions. It uses DEWALT DRS1800 1 in. insulated cable staples. The tool comes with a battery, battery charger and tool bag. I only wish I had this cable stapler when I was wiring my new bedroom addition to my home instead of having to use individual cable nails which is so slow and labor intensive. In addition if you mishit the cable staple with your hammer, as I have often done, you need to remove the staple and re-nail. As always DeWALT has come up with an excellent tool for both the homeowner as well as the professional.

Very quick but staples are a little loose, but I can work with that.

I don’t know. Someone stole it from me

Perfect tool for the trade! Electricians seem to be the only ones still using a hammer. Have waited for a pneumatic one for years but this is even better with no hoses or cords. Time and thumb saver as well. Only complaint would be that the staple doesn’t hold a single wire as tight as I would like but I can deal with that!

First of all the battery life is incredible. I didn’t know how the 2 amp hour battery would compare with my bigger 20v Dewalt batteries, all my Dewalt batteries last forever and this one isn’t an exception. I have put a whole box of staples through it over two days, a garage rough in and a smaller residential rough in. The battery is still showing 3/3 bars, I am now not even going to bother bringing my spare battery and charger. One tip to help you use less staples, and this also makes the staple hold tighter. When you pull the trigger to staple your wire push into it a little. When you do it on engineered joists push a little harder with your off hand on the back. Its funny to see people claiming to be electricians not figure this out when I figured it out halfway through my first staple box. In the first half of my stapling I stapled excessively because I hadn’t figured out I could adjust retention by how hard I pushed. What did I staple though? Data runs – 3 cat5s and a coax on each one x5 A ton of home runs in 12/2, it handled doubling, and even trippling up of the wire like it was nothing. A 10/3 for a dryer which again went beautifully.Another really awesome way you can use this stapler is to put the bottom at the last staple and hit it again. I could do most of my stapling today one handed because the head of the stapler held the wire up. The prongs that go around the wire also allowed me to straighten the wire and hold, and staple it all with one hand. This one handed operation is a godsend up on a ladder, you can do more with less ladder moves. Whoever came up with the “2x faster than manual hammering” in the Dewalt marketing office was generously understating how much time this thing saves. One more time for the little girl that returned his stapler because it “didn’t staple hard enough to hold the wire straight”, push into it and work a little, Newtons laws apply. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This stapler hits them powerfully meaning if you aren’t pushing it will bounce back slightly and lead to less penetration. In other words don’t be dissuaded from buying this because of people who don’t understand physics or nay sayers saying they are having a hard time with staple availability. The staples will come and are already very available.

This staple gun is great for electricians and low voltage technicians. Works great on all 14,12,10 AWG and RG6 and network cables.

OMG , why did it take so long for this to become available. Not a pro but I do a lot of remodeling and personal additions. Call me lazy, but I despise hammering in staples.

Stapler works great, fits into tight spots and the light helps while working in poorly lit places

just got the staples in for it and that is the only down fall at the moment they need to get them in stock, I just got done doing some rough wire and was done in no time.
