While I haven’t used it extensively, this little impact driver has some good driving ability and impresses me. Sinking several 3″+ long screws into fence posts was like driving them through soft butter. It’s not as robust and powerful at the larger impact driver versions in DeWalt’s line up but this strikes an excellent balance between the small form factor, price, and performance.

It packs an amazing amount of power considering the size and weight. Will drive a screw just as fast as DeWalt’s full-size 20V Max tools AND it’s cheaper. You’ll see keyboard warriors ripping on the Atomic line – don’t listen to them. I’ve been using it daily for months as a carpenter and have had zero problems. If you’re driving large diameter fasteners like lags bolts I’d suggest going to the XR impact, but for everything else, this tool is the ticket!
