I am not a pro, so I don’t need the best versions of the best tools. While there is an upgrade to this tool in the DeWalt family, this one gets the job done for me. This has amazing torque for a cordless tool.If you are unfamiliar with impact drivers, they are the right tool for jobs that require high torque, especially in hard to reach places. Being able to drive a bolt or screw with zero effort is nice. This would be very helpful to those who have arthritis or weak wrists. When driving a screw or bolt with a normal drill driver, you may have noticed that the drill attempts to spin if you do not hold on to it tightly. The impact driver does not do that. The mechanism that drives the impact driver takes that hit for you.If you are familiar with impact drivers, and you are a DIYer, then you may want to invest in this product, especially if you are already married to the DeWalt 20 volt family. This is not the brushless version, so it does go through battery times a bit quicker from what I have heard. It lasts long enough for my around the house jobs. Even if it didn’t. The Dewalt 101 charger charges the batteries quickly enough that I am never without battery. If this is the only DeWalt 20 volt tool you plan to buy, then you may want to go with the brushless version.

The led lights stay on for like 30 seconds which help while preparation, certainly stand up to dreamt reputation as far as how it’s built. Got this impact driver as a Christmas gift from my parents. It’s been everything I could ask for. Got the tool only because I already had a 20v drill/driver that came with 2 batteries so didn’t feel the need to have them spend the extra money at this time. First impact I’ve used that can drive a 6in. Lag bolt with no pilot and drive it like nothing! Love this thing!
