This is a heavy duty tool. I’ve seen contractors use this in the past, and I am very glad I have one of my own! It makes the work so much easier for the jobs I’m working on where I need an impact driver. This package comes with two batteries which is so important when you are in the middle of a job and your battery dies, because you can switch to the fully charged batter and put the dead battery on the charger. The set comes with a rapid charger. This is great for when one battery dies, put it on the rapid charger, then repeat the cycle for longer projects. The 20 volt batteries are very powerful and are compatible with other Dewalt 20 volt tools.

I was sceptical when I first picked up this tool. I had always used a drill when it came to drilling holes or driving screws. I was impressed at the speed that it drove screws and that alone had me sold. It had the power to run lag screws, yet enough finesse to drive decking screws in without over sinking them. Then I was in a situation where I needed to drill manhole for a cable using a space bit and my drill wouldn’t fit but the body of the impact was short enough to make it. It bored the hole with ease. This has become my crews “GO TO” tool. We now have one for every member of the team!

A powerhouse 1/4 impact in a perfect sized package!! This impact has the perfect size for continued use without any sort of fatigue! The impact comes with a hard case with a carrying handle for transportation back and forth from wherever your projects take you! The impact comes with the impact driver, two batteries, a charger, and a belt clip! (The belt clip is easily moved to either side depending on your preference!!) The impact has rubber bumpers that help protect the tool and whatever you are placing the tool on. (If you are laying it down VS. standing upward on top of the battery) There are three lights surrounding the chuck which is an awesome feature. On other drivers that I have owned that only have one light, it always seemed that they were used in an odd position that blocked the light. Having lights all the way around reduces shadows and ensures that you will have plenty of light. The batteries have a charge indicator located on the back side which is great for starting a job with a battery that has enough power left in it!! The tool features “Tool Connect”, which offers the ability to customize the tool and track the location of the tool. This is easily done through the available app. Being able to monitor diagnostics and location, is huge for business owners that are involved in the day to day operations of their business!! The tool has several different speed settings which allow for fine precision applications! I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a new powerful (EXTREMELY POWERFUL!!!!) impact driver!! The best feature is the amount of power that this tool has in such a small package!! A+

Definitely built for the professional!! I’ve been in the trade profession for over 35 years and have been through many drills and drivers and this dewalt impact driver is tops. Powerful, lightweight, strong batteries, durable carrying case and it will handle just about anything you give it. Also the LED lights are great which will illuminate those dark areas. Awesome product!

I’ve had several of these impact drivers and the one week link is the spring in the Chuck that holds the ball bearing to lock in your bits, I have three in my work trailer that are all broken. Other wise love the tools.

What was I thinking in not getting one of these earlier? I was stubborn thinking “I’ve got 3 or 4 drill/drivers at this point, what the heck do I need an impact driver for?” Well it’s a game changer and I love it and I regret not getting one sooner. Putting aside the extra features this is a DeWalt’s 20v Brushless impact driver with selectable speeds similar to the DCF887. I could be happy right there as it’s really all I need, but needless to say I’ve been very impressed. Installing a new bit can legitimately be done single handed, it’s incredibly easy. The weight and balance is great and the size makes it easy to fit in tight spaces. I can just fit this driver, a separate 20v drill, 2 batteries, a clam shell of bits into one of the small DeWalt tool bags for travel, it’s great. The torque and driving ability is just awesome. I typically am on the 2nd speed setting but you can modulate with trigger pressure which is nice. Setting #1 has a ‘precision mode’ that stops the driver once your hardware is tight, it then pauses before ‘pulsing’ even you need to get things just a little tighter. Speed #3 is a demon – if you need to drive long hardware or lag bolts this is your friend as it just blasts fasteners at speeds and torque that will make you giddy. Even more amazing is of these speed setting can be customized utilizing the app but that’s certainly not all. Taking a step back the reason this driver is different from the others is the ability to sync it with your mobile device. I was pretty skeptical at first having a previous bad experience with tools mixed with technology from one of DeWalts lime-green competitors. However I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I was able to get the tool to sync with my phone. Most of the options are self explanatory but to give a sense you can control certain functions like the torque/speed settings, light brightness and delay features. You can also look at diagnostics like run time, temperature, battery life. In addition there is a full inventory management feature where you can ‘check out’ your tool to a certain person. In addition a ‘Last Seen’ mode for finding tools that were misplaced and you can even shut off the drill if it strays beyond the mobile devices range for security. I would say these features are targeted to a work site and a professional situation with employee’s. I could see it being incredibly useful there. Overall taking a great tool, add on some cool technology, two XR batteries, a case, and changer and you’ve got an amazing combination that I would recommend to anyone.

Nice. The Bluetooth is stupid. No need. The drill and battery’s are second to none. Bluetooth is a trick

DeWalt hit a homerun with their new impact driver. The DeWalt DCF888D2 Impact Driver is powered by the DCB203 2.0Ah 20V Max XR lithium-ion battery, and a brushless motor. In the kit you get the impact driver, A/C charger, 2 batteries, belt hook, and instruction manual. There is a Quick Start Guide to help get the app for Apple, or Android devices. After downloading and installing the app, you’ll be guided through the Bluetooth connection setup, and connecting to management app.To install a tool, just push the 1/4″ hex tool into the quick-connect chuck. To remove the tool just pull back on the chuck collar to release. The rubberized hand grips are both soft to the touch, and comfortable to hold over a long period of continuous use. The batteries quickly recharge with the provided charger; approximately 30-minutes. Great tool to add to your cordless tool collection.

The kit arrived with a DCF888 ¼ inch Hex Cordless Impact Driver, two 2AH Li-Ion batteries, a 20V charger, belt clip and plastic case. There are a couple of unique features about this driver. First is DeWALT’s proprietary Tool Connect Bluetooth inventory and control system. This has an associated app used for inventory and tool control. A nice feature of the intuitive inventory is that you can also add other DeWALT and off-brand tools to the inventory, so you can control location and to whom and when you loaned the tools. The tool has a powerful reversible brushless motor that generates 152 Ft.-Lbs. of torque, at a maximum 3250 RPM and a maximum 3200 beats per minute. It also has three bright LED work lights that produced no shadows. There are three operating modes and a Home mode, controlled by the Mode Selector button on the base or by the Tool Connect app., that have customizable features for work light brightness and light delay off, maximum speed, and precision drive hesitation (Mode 1 only). The driver is relatively light weight and compact, compared to the Ryobi impact driver I presently own. There is a coin-battery in the tool to power the Bluetooth receiver that must be replaced by an authorized DeWALT Service Center. The only con I noticed was the obvious lack of any bit storage. In use, the tool behaves like most other impact drivers, with a few very important differences. The brushless motor is significantly more powerful and smoother than brush type motors. The bit only needs to be pushed into the ¼ in chuck making bit changeout super simple. I especially like being able to limit the bit speed to 1,000 RPM by using the Tool Connect app, which prevents overdriving the screws making the job go much faster. The compact size of the tool makes it easier to drive screws in a confined space. In general, this is an excellent, versatile and controllable tool that is worth the cost if you’re thinking of adding to your tool collection or replacing an impact driver you may already own. Let’s hope the DeWALT driver lasts as long as my Roybi has.
