The DEWALT DCF896 Cordless Brushless 1/2 in Impact Wrench is based off of the latest edition to the DEWALT impact wrench family, the DCF894. Integrated Bluetooth technology pairs this tool with the free Tool Connect mobile app and online inventory manager portal, allowing users to track, manage and customize the tool settings. Through the app, users are able to program 3-customized modes based on individual needs and have control over forward and reverse speed to account for different fastener sizes and types, LED brightness and delay as well as Precision Wrench and the all new exclusive Precision Tap modes. Within Precision Wrench, users can program the tool to automatically shut off after impacting for a set amount of time, useful for those performing repeatable applications and helps with tightening consistency by removing variability in impact time. Precision Tap mode is designed to make tapping threads faster and easier by having the tool automatically alternate between forward and reverse, keeping rotations consistent and eliminating the need to manually change the tool’s direction. Use this tool along with other Tool Connect offerings for a complete management solution.

I bought this tool thinking it had a battery. Tools like these are so expensive these days. Fortunately I had a impact driver with the same battery type. I need to read descriptions better. And home improvement stores need to stop charging so much for simple tools like this. Tool works great.

It is heavy duty enough for what I want to use it for. Have not had a chance to run the battery down yet so can’t comment on battery life.

I bought this new model because my older model that I have for the past 8 years has finally slowed down. This one is way more powerful, battery last longer, and very balanced. I love the 3 different torque setting. Gets the really tough bolts loose without having to get my air impact out. So no hose all over the place. Totally love this new model!

It does not have the power I thought it would have

This might be my favorite tool amongst my growing collection of Dewalt gear. Its surprisingly easy on batteries, I use a thin 2ah to keep the total tool weight down and can do a tire rotation with one charge. It has the power to remove the lug nuts on my F150 which are torqued to 150 ftlbs, and with an adapter it will accept hex shank bits to be useful aroubd the house as well. One of the things I really like about it is the rubber bumpers on the side of the tool, keeps it well protected when it tips over into concrete garage floor

Ideal for taking the nuts out of my SUV. And I can also use the batteries 60 volts. Very good construction.

I went back and forth between the mid range and the big one. I am just a DIY homeowner and wanted something for lug nuts and other small projects that may come up. With a 2.0ah battery I had no issues removing lug nuts torqued at 140 ft lbs as well as my mower blades. Very pleased with the power and do not see me ever needing any more power than this has to offer.

Hello,It’s Jeremy from Home Depot 6174 Watertown, N.Y. again. This time my dealer over tightened my lug nuts. Plus I tend to do some of my own vehicle work. As most of my tools are Dewalt, I decided to give this impact wrench a try. Especially after my father’s input as to how much he likes using the more industrial version he owns.I have so many batteries that this tool only version suits me and helps me save money.I put the appropriate Husky 19mm deep socket on it. Selected the Hi Torque setting. Attached it to the lug nuts. Pulled the trigger. Removed 10 out of 15 overtightened lug nuts. In only a few minutes. I am surprised my lug bolts aren’t snapped off these things were so tight. It was so nice not having to jump on a breaker bar to remove those lugs for once. This thing is technically overkill for my vehicle as the lugs should only have 80 lbs. on them.If you have a car, suv, or small truck, this should do well for you.I was not asked to provide this review. I am not receiving compensation for it.

Impact works great! Was able to use it to take lug nuts off as long as they were not over torqued.
