I use mine for electric linework. They have plenty of power for stuff like drilling through poles.I’m disappointed though, that working on the high voltage lines will knock the DeWalt out. You can use some other brands like Hilti & even a $100 Ryobi on the lines w/no problem.

I’m a lineman that uses this tool daily on power lines. Matched up with 7/16 hex drill bits and sockets this tool is fantastic. Although not as fast as a hydraulic drill this impact drills 15/16″ holes in wood transmission poles with ease, and tightens 5/8 3/4 & 7/8 bolts without hesitation. After having this tool for 2 years I have no use for a hydraulic impact with hoses that catch on everything. When working off the pole there is no substitute for a battery impact, I can’t even remember the last time I started a gas drill.
