I went from a cheap Ryobi that was about 10 years old that died. Have lots of Dewalt 20v tools and figured I’d get this as a replacement. SImple job cutting cultured veneer stone with a diamond blade and I went through 6 or more batteries for maybe a 60 square foot job. It struggled to cut through the stone on several occasions. It did not feel like it was 8000 rpms, more like 4000 rpms. Waste of my money.

It’s a solid grinder, and I knew what I needed it for so I’m happy with it, but if you want serious torque or are going to need to use for extended periods, go for a corded unit. But for touch-ups, going through a few bolts, spot-sanding or polishing it’s a good buy.

We used this for our most recent remodel project and it worked amazing. We used different discs to cut metal concrete vinyl siding and more. The grinder works best with a 5ah battery pack. Would have had a harder time completing the project without it.

When my son was young I had a basketball hop installed in our yard. The installer not only cemented the post into the ground he poured cement into the post. I wanted to remove it but couldn’t decide which power tool to purchase for the project. I originally decided on a reciprocating saw but decided it wouldn’t cut the post as close to the ground as this DeWALT Grinder. This tool did the job perfectly. However, the grinding disc supplied with the tool wasn’t quite suitable to the job so I purchased a Rigid Metal Cutting Diamond Blade. This combination was perfect for the project and did exactly what I wanted. It not only cut through the steel but the cement as well. I would highly recommend this tool as well as DeWALT tools as well!

The guard adjustment is kinda iffy in my opinion.
