The DCG414T1 4-1/2 in. to 6 in. (115 mm to 150 mm) Grinder with Kickback Brake is maximized for power and durability. It delivers 13 Amp power as compared to the D28144N with the portability and convenience of cordless through DEWALT’s revolutionary FLEXVOLT technology. The DCG414T1 comes with one 60-Volt Max Lithium-Ion battery and fast charger.
- 13 Amp equivalent motor as compared to a D28144 corded unit
- Brake engages when trigger is released, stopping speeds of 1.5 seconds with standard grinding wheel (4-1/2 in. x 1/4 in. Bonded abrasive wheel, non-hubbed)
- Kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed and the electronic brake engages with MAX
- E-clutch activates in less than a tenth of a second when a pinch/stall is detected, shutting down the motor
- 9,000 RPM speed allows the use of up to 6 in. wheels
- Allows for up to 6 in. wheel size for both cutting and grinding applications

The first time I pulled this out of the bag on the rig it paid for itself, having the power of a corded grinder without the hassle of rigging up extension cords in wet environments is unbelievably convenient. This baby cuts through solid steel like butter and is very comfortable in your hands. I get about 15-20 minutes of solid use out of the 60v 6 included battery but with a 45 minute recharge swapping between a couple batteries is no big hassle. 10/10 my favorite power tool in my bag.

I work in a plumbing company in the New York city area. I have this awesome grinder for about 6 months now. Company supplies power tools how ever not dewalt they prefer (milwauke or hilti). Since I’m a dewalt lover and all my tools are dewalt I had to get this for myself. I have used both brands cordless tools before I got my hands on this flexvolt cordless grinder. I love how I can switch easily the blade guard when ever I can’t use a 6″ wheel for the job which is my favorite one to work with. Cut no-hub pipes, copper, galvanized schedule 40 pipe, black steel pipe schedule 40 with no problem just like slice cake. The grip is super comfortable and safety pin very convinent just one hand is needed to start the tool. I believe the design helps alot with weight distribution giving me more time to perform the jobs and not having to take breaks because tool is getting heavier by the second or my hand starting to cramp. Battery life is awesome I use the flexvolt battery on my 20v tools as well for better performance and longer run time, Some times I go 2 to 3 days with out having to charge my 3 flexvolt batteries. I really like this flexvolt line I would love to add more tools to my work team. I’m just 25 years old and for me tools are like my big boy toys currently trying to acquire the flexvolt sawzall it makes me really happy every time I unwrap one of your tools and see it perform without disappointing. I’m always ready for what ever the day brings with the help of my tools. I always recommend dewalt for the battery compatibility, the price which is very affordable and for the performance the tools offer.

My employee purchased this 20v flex grinder, and i was skeptical to say the least. This tool really has the power of a corded grinder. Run time i was better than expected, although when pushed hard the batteries drained quickly(~10 minutes of hard use removing steel). For simple weld prep or grinding rust/scale this grinder is fantastic. But for more heavy duty applications such as actual material removal, man up and drag your cord and 9inch grinder. Ergonomics are great. The rat tail handle is way 10x more comfortable than your typical 4inch paddle-trigger grinder. Great tool for the small industrial type jobs as this tool is probably a little much for the typical home-owner applications.

i initially bought this grinder to have on standby for when i gotta go make a quick cut or a small grind somewhere and i dont want to waste time stringing out cords. this grinder very quickly earned a permanent spot in my welding rig along side my corded dewalt grinders and is now my go to for first grinder i grab. As a joke i gave it to my helper to run ahead of me on the the pipeline and buff the next joint before i got to it, by doing that it saved us so much time that while we were poor boying 16″ we were able to keep up to the guys tag teaming in front of us. ive had this grinder for 10 months now and it never fails to impress myself or co workers with its performance. only downside is i found the 6amp battery to not last as long as i would like, but with a backup battery charged and ready its always good to go. just recently picked up a 12amp battery, hopefully it meets my expectations. the little lock on the trigger is annoying.

I have had 2 and one lasted longer than other but my first one was super tough and I abused it hard …..I was actually pretty impressed with it’s lifespan….. Better than any corded one I have owned ….the kickback brake is perfectly set so u can use hard but still sensitive enough to save a cutting wheel. …no regret owning this unit !!!!!
