I used this drill to in the rotary hammering mode to drill a 5/8 hole thru my 12″ foundation enabling me to install a 1/2″ plastic pipe. With no effort the hole was drilled in well under a minute. The battery power is a big bonus eliminating the annoyance of extension cords,

After spending an hour with a hammer and chisel by hand to take up only 2 12×12 floor tiles, I went looking for a better way. I was thinking about a demo hammer but they cost 600+ and are way overkill for this. I ran to HD and picked this up for ~200 and the bosch sds+ tile chisel. I tore through all the remaining floor tiles in about 10 mins in hammer only mode. This tool is a beast. It takes a couple mins to learn the right technique but then it’s easy. Having this tool just for removing tile is worth the cost. I don’t have a need for drilling into concrete right now, but nice to know I can. I might even try chiseling some crumbling rocks in the yard with a pointed chisel bit. This tool is way more powerful than i expected.A couple tips: The side handle twists to tighten (not meant to rotate around the tool), I didn’t realize that until after I was done and it was too loose. Try to position the chisel under the tile where the thinset is for best results. Whole tiles will come up that way. You can control the speed by pressing the trigger lightly but you have to put pressure on the bit before it engages the hammer.

I wish I would have had a tool like this a long time ago. It is much better for going through concrete than a standard corded drill or standard cordless hammer drill. It could be more powerful, but it is powerful enough to drill 3/4″ 6″ deep holes in concrete in about 30 seconds with nice carbide tipped 3/4″ Bosch 5X Concrete with Rebar bit. 3 settings: Drill, Rotary Hammer, and Hammer Only. I have used the chipper too and it works fairly well to bust up small bits of concrete (I am sure it would work great for tile demo). This will certainly not work to take out large sections of concrete, get an air powered jack hammer. It is nice and light, and very inexpensive (169) for what it is and how capable it is. For reference a small 2AH battery will do about five 6″ deep 3/4″ holes before dead.

This drill is a work horse and easy to use. Used it to drill 15 holes in 8″ concrete and we had to let it rest a couple of times but that is understandable. Great piece of equipment.

great drill, I only use the hammer drill, haven’t used the hammer only, but am sure it’s a good lil hammer.Makes short work of most tasks, makes plenty of holes on a single 4amp battery
