This Drill is a BEAST. I put it to the test right after purchasing. I typically use a corded Bosch Bulldog Xtreme and it is EASILY twice as fast drilling holes in concrete. I drilled around 600 1/2′ holes in 10″ fiber enforced concrete with this drill and it performed almost flawlessly. 60volt batteries lasted around 25 minutes of continuous usage. I advise buying a couple more 60v 9amp batteries if it’s a big job (I would say that a total of 6 batteries would keep you going continuously). I didn’t realize that it used the SDS Max bits; as I always have used the SDS Plus bits for the Bulldog Xtreme. There is an adapter that will allow you to use the less expensive SDS Plus bits that costs around $130. It comes with a large case, 2 60v 9amp batteries, and a fast charge charger. There is a slot in the case for storing several bits. This is the perfect tool for those jobs that don’t have power available. My only issue with it is that there isn’t a reverse; which you sometimes need to get back out of holes.

Only used a couple times since purchased , but very happy with its overall performance, only down side I feel is the weight of it, but still manageable

I got this hammer drill because I’m on jobsites with no power all the time, I was worried about performance when coring larger diameter holes, but it cored me a 6in hole in 12 inches of brick and cinder blocks, that were filled solid, better than my corded drill, and with the 60v power I still drilled 50 or 60 drop in anchors with one battery. I love this drill, really made one of my most dreaded tasks into one of the easiest!

I got me one of these bad boys back when they first came and these things are a beast for a cordless tool. I am a contractor so I’m constantly using this thing. It drills holes like a charm and it also helped me bust a large chunk of concrete out of a basement wall when I was putting in a new casement window one time. I am totally happy with it. Something I will say thought dont expect too much out of it as you have to remember this is a cordless tool and you jus can’t pack the punch that some corded tools can. If you’re planning on using core bits I would advise to get the one that’s the next size bigger or a big corded one.

This drill out performs our corded hammer drills. Just note it is SDS-Plus and not regular SDS.

I have been using the sds max for 7 months now great for drilling into concrete. I use the chipping function on many projects. My coworker are mad if I don’t have it along with me.

Purchased this last summer for a Old Brick Mansion renovation. Have used it for everything. Anchor bolt holes, chipping concrete and brick to small core bits for plumbing , electrical holes and removing tile and mortar beds. Has handled all Ive thrown at it. Love not have to drag cords around and has been a geniune time saver. It doesn’t replace a demo hammer but it was surprisenly strong for only 6.1 joules. Will probably purchase the 2″ Combo next, now that I know that the battery power will perform.Pros- are it is cordless, saves time on set up, has the power for small to medium jobs. Versitale drill.Cons-No reverseOverall I would buy again for an everyday combo hammer drill and I do recommend for any pros.

Wish more of dewalt tools were made in the USA. I’m a welder by trade and use dewalt tools everyday.

Love that we’re able to use this without cord and that there are other tools that we have or can buy to use the same platform!!!

This sds max roto hammer will not dissapoint. There have been times where it sticks while drilling into concrete and i have been able to get it out no probled despite the lack of having a reverse option. By the time someone pulls out a cord and moves the stuff by the generator exhaust i am well on my way 15-20 holes into my work. That is a huge benefit! Plus they have to put the cord and stuff away. Ni more risk of running iver those expensive $100-150$ cords either. If you have other flexvolt tools and batteries this one is a no brainer for the concrete contractor or dedicated worker. It drills faster than the Bosch due to more rpm’s and is just as powerful at about 4-4.5 ft lbs of impact or 7 joules. They will be releasing a 13.3 joule or about 8 ft lbs sds max soon and i cant wait to give that a go. Does well with digging spade bit and the chipping bit works great to drive next to stakes for removal or green concrete that is on the wring side of the form. Hope this heps

I purchased the flex volt cordless hammer drill to drill holes. I knew that it had a cordless chipping hammer function. I did not for see a need for a cordless chipping hammer. The other day I needed to tunnel through a gravel infused dirt. I put a small spade bit in the Hammerdrill chipping hammer and made two tunnels under two footings on one charged battery. I was very impressed.

I recently purchased the cordless Hammer Drill in order to drill holes in hard terrain so as to set t-posts for replacing an existing fence. The Combo Hammer worked as advertised. I was able to drill the holes necessary. I could not be more pleased with the Combo Hammer Drill.

This roto-hammer is real good. The only downside I have found is that there is no reverse, to back out of getting caught in rebar or something else. Other than that It is a really great roto-hammer, It drills the concrete for all of my retro-fitting needs. And it does have enough power for the job.

Used for first time on job site today. Drilled 22 5/8 holes at 2″ deep for moisture testing into concrete slab on one battery. Cut on site time in half not having to drag 100′ or more of power cords around !! Also smooth and easy use and won’t beat you up with heavy use… Am amazing product, couldn’t be happier !!
