The DCH481X2 60-Volt MAX Brushless 1-9/16 in. SDS MAX Combination Hammer is a lightweight high-performance hammer that is powered by a DEWALT brushless motor and durable German engineered mechanism. The DCH481 delivers 6.1 joules of impact energy for fast drilling, even in the hardest concrete. The lightweight design makes it ideally suited for horizontal serial drilling for #4 – #8 rebar, dry coring and chipping in any mid to upper wall and ceiling application. The patented E-Clutch, system provides enhanced control to the user in a bind up situation and can help minimize sudden torque reaction compared to standard clutches. The Active Vibration Control, technology employed delivers reduced user vibration for less user fatigue and greater productivity. With its balanced design, SHOCKS, Active Vibration Control, technology and Extreme Run Time, this hammer is ideally suited for all day use, even in the hardest concrete.

The battery was purchased as an accessory to the cordless hedge trimmer; it fit correctly and actually seemed to provide a counter-balance to the tool. It charged to full capacity in less than 1 hour. It should provide extended service to what is probably a heavy-draw appliance. Should work equally well with the cordless chain saw. Typical DeWalt quality, that is to say it rocks. Rather a pricey accessory but well worth the price.

I recently bought two of these DeWalt 9 Ah Lithium Ion battery packs as back up batteries for my DeWalt mower as well as the other DeWalt battery-powered tools I have (chain saw and circular saw). It is great having the extra capacity so that I do not have to worry about whether I will run out of power. The batteries come with a protective cover (see picture), and there is a battery status button on the side so you always know the level of charge. I highly recommend this 9 Ah battery. It is the largest capacity DeWalt battery and well worth the cost.
