The DCH481X2 60-Volt MAX Brushless 1-9/16 in. SDS Max Combination Hammer is a lightweight high-performance hammer that is powered by a DEWALT brushless motor and durable German engineered mechanism. The DCH481 delivers 6.1 joules of impact energy for fast drilling, even in the hardest concrete. The lightweight design makes it ideally suited for horizontal serial drilling for #4 – #8 rebar, dry coring and chipping in any mid to upper wall and ceiling application. The patented E-Clutch and system provides enhanced control to the user in a bind up situation and can help minimize sudden torque reaction compared to standard clutches. Works great. A lot of torque to remove rusted bolts. No hoses to trip over. The reverse switch is in an awkward spot as you can easily switch into neutral if you’re not careful. Other than that, its a work horse.

I bought this tool to keep in my truck for tough tasks such as lug and bolt removal for my truck and trailers. Although I have the impact driver and folks say it can perform these task. I on the otherhand believe it to be tool abuse. I’d rather have more power on a tool then needed to work at ease than to have close enough power to work my tool to the bone. Take care of your tools and your tools will take care of you.

After 3 years of use, my old Porter Cable had lost a step. It no longer had enough torque to remove a lug nut. So it was given to my 7 year old, and I ordered this Dewalt. It showed up at my door in a couple of days, and has not stopped working since. Let me say I am impressed. The only lug nuts it has not been able to remove, no other impact would either. Not even my big IR air gun. This impact is used almost daily. Recently I swapped the engine in my work truck and this thing was pushed for hour at a time, and never failed. As a matter of fact the only complaint I have is that with the big battery is it heavy after several hours of use, it is a good workout though. If you need a good cordless impact this is the one for you.

Purchased this just a short while ago and have already drilled hundreds of re-rod holes, chiseled old cemented in steel posts and chisled certain post hole areas(old cement or large rocks). Did an amazing job. If I had one thing to comment against besides the price is that it is hefty. This is not a light weight tool. Most of my jobs have lasted two hours at a time and sometimes two or three jobs in a day. The Flexvolt really holds a charge. I am so far very pleased will write again only if it doesn’t hold up.

This roto-hammer is real good. The only downside I have found is that there is no reverse, to back out of getting caught in rebar or something else. Other than that It is a really great roto-hammer, It drills the concrete for all of my retro-fitting needs. And it does have enough power for the job.

This sds max roto hammer will not dissapoint. There have been times where it sticks while drilling into concrete and i have been able to get it out no probled despite the lack of having a reverse option. By the time someone pulls out a cord and moves the stuff by the generator exhaust i am well on my way 15-20 holes into my work. That is a huge benefit! Plus they have to put the cord and stuff away. Ni more risk of running iver those expensive $100-150$ cords either. If you have other flexvolt tools and batteries this one is a no brainer for the concrete contractor or dedicated worker. It drills faster than the Bosch due to more rpm’s and is just as powerful at about 4-4.5 ft lbs of impact or 7 joules. They will be releasing a 13.3 joule or about 8 ft lbs sds max soon and i cant wait to give that a go. Does well with digging spade bit and the chipping bit works great to drive next to stakes for removal or green concrete that is on the wring side of the form. Hope this heps
