The DCH481X2 60-Volt MAX Brushless 1-9/16 in. SDS MAX Combination Hammer is a lightweight high-performance hammer that is powered by a DEWALT brushless motor and durable German engineered mechanism. The DCH481 delivers 6.1 joules of impact energy for fast drilling, even in the hardest concrete. The lightweight design makes it ideally suited for horizontal serial drilling for #4 to #8 rebar, dry coring and chipping in any mid to upper wall and ceiling application. The patented E-Clutch, system provides enhanced control to the user in a bind up situation and can help minimize sudden torque reaction compared to standard clutches. The Active Vibration Control, technology employed delivers reduced user vibration for less user fatigue and greater productivity. With its balanced design, SHOCKS, Active Vibration Control, technology and Extreme Run Time, this hammer is ideally suited for all day use, even in the hardest concrete.
- 6.1 joules of impact energy provides corded power without the cord
- E-clutch for maximum control in bind-up situations – a perform and protect feature
- SHOCKS – active vibration control reduces vibration felt by the user at the handles, a perform and protect feature
- DEWALT built brushless motor for all day runtime and durability
- DCF899B up to 700 ft. lbs. of maximum torque and 1200 ft./lbs. of MAX breakaway torque

Mostly using for ground rods and core bits for electrical services. Does it’s job and works just as good if not better than wall powered drills and saves me from lugging around a generator

Great impact, very powerful and easy to use, has 3 settings so you don’t over torque and break something. LED light is bright and in a great location so you can easily see what you are doing. Not the lightest cordless impact out there but for the power it has i’m not complaining

After 3 years of use, my old Porter Cable had lost a step. It no longer had enough torque to remove a lug nut. So it was given to my 7 year old, and I ordered this Dewalt. It showed up at my door in a couple of days, and has not stopped working since. Let me say I am impressed. The only lug nuts it has not been able to remove, no other impact would either. Not even my big IR air gun. This impact is used almost daily. Recently I swapped the engine in my work truck and this thing was pushed for hour at a time, and never failed. As a matter of fact the only complaint I have is that with the big battery is it heavy after several hours of use, it is a good workout though. If you need a good cordless impact this is the one for you.

I returned this product because it is actually SDS-MAX instead of SDS-Plus and none of my bits were compatable with this item. Awesome feeling tool but in my line of work I need the smaller bit sizes with the sds-plus

Removes bolts my 1/2″ air impact can’t handle. It’s the man.

I have only used it once to remove wheels from a 2003 dodge 2500. It worked great!

This is a brute, heavy, and powerful. When you pull the trigger the torque is immediately felt. You can not hold it without it torquing over. Love it.

Nice and smooth operation! Cordless is the way to go. The batteries lasts long enough for basic slab removal projects.

This Drill is a BEAST. I put it to the test right after purchasing. I typically use a corded Bosch Bulldog Xtreme and it is EASILY twice as fast drilling holes in concrete. I drilled around 600 1/2′ holes in 10″ fiber enforced concrete with this drill and it performed almost flawlessly. 60volt batteries lasted around 25 minutes of continuous usage. I advise buying a couple more 60v 9amp batteries if it’s a big job (I would say that a total of 6 batteries would keep you going continuously). I didn’t realize that it used the SDS Max bits; as I always have used the SDS Plus bits for the Bulldog Xtreme. There is an adapter that will allow you to use the less expensive SDS Plus bits that costs around $130. It comes with a large case, 2 60v 9amp batteries, and a fast charge charger. There is a slot in the case for storing several bits. This is the perfect tool for those jobs that don’t have power available. My only issue with it is that there isn’t a reverse; which you sometimes need to get back out of holes.

I was somewhat disappointed in the amount of power this impact driver provides. I had read all the reviews and watched several videos and yet when I put it into use driving in lag bolts I was unimpressed by the power delivery. I thought it was going to be a beast and it turned out to be a mouse.
