I have Dewalt 20 volt batteries everywhere, I also have the Dewalt string trimmer and leaf blower, and now this hedge trimmer. I love them all, works great and no gas to get old! I trimmed the hedges in front of my house, about twenty feet and had no problems at all. Checked the battery and it was still fully charged.

As I get older it becomes more difficult to handle heavy tools or exert the pressure needed to trim hedges. With 2 acres to maintain I was looking for something that would lighten the load and this trimmer is it. We have other Dewalt tools so this fits right in with our growing collection. Used it to trim boxwoods, spirea, and a little miss kim lilac. Battery power seems to be good. This handles branches up to about 1/2″ thick. This is not for extremely heavy cutting, but works great for light to medium jobs. This lets me continue to maintain our gardens. Good value for the money as always with Dewalt.

Cuts through shrubs like butter. I did all my shrubs around my house and still had 2 out of 3 lights on the battery! I couldn’t get half way around my house with my black and decker before the battery was dead. I’m very happy with it. I’m getting the trimmer next and then more toys.

The product arrived on time in perfect condition. I charged the battery (probably not needed, but I charged it anyway). The next day I trimmed 2 burford holly shrubs (overgrown) and 2 large yopon (sic?) holly shrubs plus about a dozen smaller shrubs in the flower beds. I worked beautifully, cutting thru up to 1/2 inch stems. It never stalled. I later loaned it to my son who trimmed all the shrubs around his house. He raved on it. He said it cut his trimming time by at least 75% compared to using his electric trimmer. I do not know what the full battery life is. I just know that neither of us came close to running down the 5 amp hr battery that came with the tool. The bonus 3 amp hr battery is just icing on the cake. I charged it up at the same time I charged the original battery. I hope it works, but I don’t think I will ever need it except as a spare for other Dewalt tools.. I highly recommend this product. I’m over 60 and this is the best hedge trimmer I have ever used and I have used a lot of them (gas powered, electric, you name it).Only con – expensive. I
