The hammer drill with the flex volt battery used is a little heavier than normal. If you don’t need to drill a lot of holes this will work. I like to use to 20 volt battery in both impact driver and the hammer drill. The drill has three speeds which is nice to hammer drill or to drill in regular or driving screws. The hammer drill comes with a second handle that is adjustable. The charger will charge both batteries.

This drill is insane! I purchased it to replace a 15ish year old 18v XRP that finally died (which I also loved). The light is crazy bright on this, has a nice chuck etc. The low speed setting has enough power to wrap you up if the bit binds so be careful if you’re not using the handle attachment. Overall great quality replacement!

This drill is beefy, and packs plenty of power to be a great combo drill/driver/hammerdrill. Highly recommend it if you are like me and would prefer to have 1 tool to cover these jobs in your tool box, instead of spending another $200 when you need the hammerdrill side. Note that this is a pretty large drill, so if you are looking for a lightweight day-to-day or small around the house job drill, this may be overkill and bulky/cumbersome.

I bought this set and had to return it the same day because the hammer drill did not turn on. 3 days later and the chuck keeps loosening while hammer drilling and because of this it sheered the teeth. When ever the chuck holds tight it works great but so far it is not the best experiance.

So I’ve been a DeWalt fan for years and and I own and have given many sets as gifts over the years. But this drill and driver set absolutely blows me away with the quality and features! There are speed controls and light level controls, not to mention a seriously impressive battery. The hammer drill handie attaches quickly without tools and helps support the sturdy drill when in use. Ther imprest driver has a setting for light duty, which is really handy. Can’t praise this set enough!

Starting off CONS with impact DCF887 which has been arround the market for couple of years now, not upgraded in any kits but it’s handy(size, weight, ect) and capable to different functions. DCD 999 Hammer drill is what shines in this kit. It’s over powering DCD996&DCD998(Power Detect). Overall an impact driver/drill you can use all time.Hammerdrill would be overkill for most DIYers but still recommended.
