Tripod stand is very sturdy and the height extension is great. Very bright and spreads over a large area. The only thing that it lacks is a cover for the lens, for protection when kicking around the job site or in the back of the van.

As the photos show below, the light illuminates a pretty large area. It does telescope up 7′ and the directional head allows the light to be easily aimed. The way the unit folds up for transportation it is relatively easy to carry up a ladder–even two story buildings. We are a commercial roofing company that offers 24/7 repairs. This light is indispensable. With two of these lights, one on each side of our roof repair area, a huge area is illuminated well enough to do detailed repair jobs.Another feature I love is the warning it gives prior to needing a new battery. It intermittently flashes for about 15 minutes before a battery is drained. The only thing it lacks is the ability to plug in a power cord. That would make it much more convenient than changing out batteries.I HIGHLY recommend this light. P.S. We also have a DeWalt DCL070 light that looks like a fire hydrant. I really dislike this light because it is so heavy we can not carry it up a ladder for roof repairs. Also, the DCL070 does not telescope up like the DCL079B.

This light is awesome! Built heavy duty. I use it for multiple applications. I own a HVAC company and take it with me on all my installs. It actually saved our 4th of July celebration. The power went out for a square mile for about an hour and a half and we had a bunch of friends and family over so I busted this puppy out with a 60v flex volt battery lasted all night and the party went on! I also lend it to my bro-in-law all the time so he can shoot many marketing pics for his company. He says it’s the only light he will use now. He’s just to cheap to buy his own lol. Easy to use, bright, heavy duty, do yourself a favor and buy it!
