This 7 in. Rotary Polisher features a brushless motor for efficient performance and runtime. No-load speed of 800-2200 RPM with the variable speed trigger and dial allow for use in car, headlight, windshield, fiber glass, gel-coat and glass polishing applications. The included 7 in. backing plate is recommended for most applications.

I’ve been using the rotary polisher for the last 6 months in my detailing business. It’s great for any job but it’s really useful when I go to a customers house for a quote and can do a quick test spot to show them the results from polishing. With a 5ah battery I get about 1 hour worth of polishing running at 800rpm (which is all that is needed for automotive clear coat) The included backing plate is decent I’ve used it with lake country wool pads that have a Velcro backing. I mostly use a smaller 6in lake country backing plate for a more typical 6″ foam or wool pad. Compared to my corded makita this unit is quieter to run. The bad reviews I’ve seen for this tool come from people who don’t understand what type of polishing pads this machine is designed to use. You don’t use a “bonnet” with this type of tool!

I got this tool as a birthday present this year…gotta day it’s a sweet tool. I do a lot of clear resin epoxy tables, bars, end tables, coffee tables, etc. the one thing this is not listed for is clear resin epoxy. It works like a champ! I had been polishing my work with a sub-par machine and this thing makes the difference. I’ve got to say my favorite feature is the variable speed trigger. I would however recommend a novice user to tread lightly on that trigger. This tool has enough power that it could run away on somebody. Overall, another great tool from Dewalt!
