Dewalt DCMW220P2 Cordless Push MowerI purchased this mower in the middle last summer to mow the inside of a rather large cat habitat. I will say although it may not be a perfect mower, it meets and exceeds my needs. I did a little research before I bought it and there are a lot of reviews detailing the mower and it’s capabilities. But I still didn’t know what to expect as far as true runtime. Using the two 20v 5AH batteries that came with the mower, I can mow 4 to 5 inch tall grass for about 25 minutes if I stay focused and now that I have a pattern. If you have to charge the batteries, you better be on vacation. Okay, it’s not that bad but with the supplied charger it will be hours before you can get back out there to mow. I won’t bore you with the specs because if you are reading this, I know you have already spent time reading a hundred other reviews. But I will tell you the things I like and dislike about the mower as well as what I think would make the mower even more awesome. What I really like about this mower…How easy it is to go from storage to mowing. Literally less than a minute. Not having to pull the cord to start after each time I stop. Not having to mess with the choke/gas to get this thing going. Its compatible with my FLEXVOLT batteries, giving me even more run time if needed. How easy it is to adjust the cutting height with one hand. The ease of attaching and removing the clippings bag. The bag is a little small but does fill up.The ease of going from a bagger to a mulching mower. Remove the bag insert the plug. You can easily see the battery level indicator lights while mowing. That is is a tough little mower and has taken a bit of man-handling without breaking. That it’s prefect for what I bought it for. What I really don’t like about this mower…That the cable sometimes get pinched when folding up the mower for storage. The cable gets pinched between the handle and bracket. That it didn’t come with bigger batteries (but that’s okay, I have some, but not everyone will)I don’t like the charger that is supplied with the mower. That was really disappointing. What could make it even more awesome and the best selling mower on the market…If the front wheels would swivel. If the deck height adjustment was on the push handle (lazy I know)If it came with bigger (longer lasting) batteries.A fast dual slot battery charger. These four things could make it the number one selling cordless mower of the year. I hope the other manufactures aren’t reading this, just saying…I do and have recommended this mower. I like the ease of using it and for what I wanted, it works perfectly for me.

This mower is well constructed and easy to operate. It quickly converts from mulching to catching grass. It had been several weeks since I had last mowed my lawn; however, this mower was able to handle the overgrown lawn with ease. Be advised I have rather small area of grass (259 so ft) which I was able to mow three times on a single charge. Plus the biggest advantage is you get two 20V – 5AH batteries with charger I can use with my other DeWalt tools.

Mower arrived today after a two week wait to have it delivered online. UPS delivered it to my house and the carton was beat up pretty well as it came off the truck. After taking it out of the carton and charging up the batteries, I proceeded to mow some grass with it. The battery life is not what they advertised for the two batteries fully charged. They state that the run time for fully charged set of batteries should be 25 min which is a few minutes more that what mine will do with fully charged brand new battery packs (and I am cutting grass that is nowhere near the thickness of a cultured lawn… we just mow what turns green on the sand plain here in central MN.) After going thru a mowing cycle with the batteries being used up I took the mower up on the apron of my shed where I could blow the dust off it before storing it for the next use and noticed that the rear wheels were pigeontoed because the rear axle is bent at both ends. I took pix of the issue and and carton as well before calling customer service (who refer to themselves as Bostich Customer Service.) They provided no relief to my problem, but would only state that since the unit is not more than a month old take it to a local store and have it replaced directly. This really makes me sad to think that the mower was ordered on April 20, received on May 4, and now I have just two weeks (rather than their standard full month) to get to the local store for an even exchange amid this COVID-19 business. I have had really good luck with their products up until this one and right now am not feeling it for this one. I might just have to get a refund?

Love the mower but the 5Ah batteries are too weak for a mower. In the US this mower is sold with 2-9Ah batteries which would be much more appropriate. I have to use the higher amp batteries I have from other tools.

It is light and powerful. I can mow 1/8 acre on the two batteries provided with the mower. I use the mower for mulching. Clean cut, no clippings above ground. You have to use both batteries. You can monitor the battery usage. It is easy to adjust the height settings with one hand. Easy to start as well.

Great mower. Does the job well and can’t say enough about cordless, batteries that work with my other Dewalt tools. Like the the mower can stand on end making for easy and compact storage.

I’ve owned this mower now for about a year. It has great power, I love not having to deal with winterizing it and dealing with a gas motor. The only downside is the battery run time, especially when it’s over 70 degrees. The batteries will get hot and I have to change out a couple of times. If you have enough batteries for your yard, it’s super easy and convenient and does a great job with an even cut.

Easy the manage and store. Does a great job whether big or small.

Good for what I needed. Everything I have is Dewalt. I have 6 Batteries that fit this mower so it’s easy to change out. I’m on a half acre, It does the front and can trim around my house. Then it’s done. I wanted to last a bit longer, But the cut quality the quiet start is all great and very easy to use.

We own a a half acre lot. The lawnmower with its dual 5 amps takes 3 charges to finish the lawn. This my first battery operated lawnmower. We’ve had the lawnmower for a month and its worked great till today. I did the first section of the yard. Batteries died, charged them went back to do the 2nd part and the lawn mower wont start. It makes a “urg” sound like it won’t kick over.Mower blades can be turned by hand. Unti is free of debris. Battery indicators show full charge. Mower head shows both batteries having a full charge, just wont kick over to start up.

this mower works great. it doesn’t bog down easily and it is easy to maneuver. it folds up nice and compact and it’s very lightweight. however the batteries that ship with it do not offer much in the way of run time. for anything over 800 sq ft I would recommend upgrading to the 9ah batteries but that almost doubles the cost of the mower overall. the bagger works great and doesn’t plug easily but it also needs changed often.

I bought the DeWalt lawn mower to replace an ageing gas powered mower. While it doesn’t have the same suction power of the gas mower it meets my expectations. It’s light, quiet, easy to use, and cuts the grass cleanly. I have a fairly large lawn, about 4500 sq ft of a 9600 sq ft lot and one battery charge does one full cut.

This is a great mower if you have a fleet of dewalt tools (preferably 20v and 60v). The mower itself is great. The batteries it comes with do not last long being used continuously under load. I knew this before I purchased it. But I own dewalt flex volt batteries for other tools and knew I could use those, and repurpose the batteries that came with the mower. If you have the ability to do the same I 100% recommend this tool. If you do not have a fleet of dewalt equipment, or do not aspire to have a fleet of dewalt equipment, spend the extra money to build a fleet of ego equipment.

I don’t do a lot of lawn with it. But the battery does not last very long. Should come with a larger battery or o would recommend purchasing a second set of batteries. The mower itself has lots of power and is excellent quality.

This product is light and easy to use. It cuts evenly and the all wheel cut adjustment is a nice feature. The biggest con to this product is the short run time with the two 5ah batteries. I have a small yard and never finish without having to recharge the batteries. I have had to buy extra batteries which are very expensive.

Batteries don’t last but 45 minutes

All I was looking for. Much easier to use than the 12″ corded mower I was using.

DeWalt means quality, this lawnmower is no exception.

I love the lawn mower, but the battery charger does not work and the batteries take some special attention to get a good charge going. The batteries do not last as long as advertised, but what does.

My thoughts/review after 1st use in the Surf Town.. DeWalt gets an A+ for the quality and ease of use on these mowers. Most of the negatives from others are for the run time on batteries.. it is what it is. I was able to mow my front yard on 2 batteries. For the back yard it took a couple more. I already have 7-8 batteries, so this is not an issue. Far better than my old gas mower. Very satisfied with this purchase, and would recommend to anyone in the market for a battery powered mower.
