Lol I am approaching 60 and no longer interested in pull starting lawn mowers or hauling big gas cans. I love the mower- push the button and mow the grass. I mow a little over 1/2 acre and battery lasts right til end although it is almost out of bars by then. Mows great – not hard to push. Easy to load up with handles to haul to handicapped brothers house to mow there as well. Cleans up nicely and I like the bright yellow color!

For my 30 x 40 lawn in NYC, this might be an overkill 🙂 . My unit comes with 2 9ah battery, but I was able to finish my small but wet lawn with 2 5ah battery! I can imagine it can easily cut twice the size of my lawn with 2 5ah battery. The quality of the mower is strong and tough! And best of all, it can tuck away easily, the handle has an adjustment and folds to the front for vertical storage. I love it, it is so quiet, and always ready.. .press down and cut!

Mower is lightweight and easy to operate. Runs smoothly and quietly with a good cut. I have a large lawn and it is not a problem to finish with the two 9 Ah batteries supplied. It is a pleasure to not have to worry about starting a gasoline mower with the problems associated with ethanol etc. Simple is better and this is simply better.

If you already have the 20v system this is a great addition. I have an acre of property to mow and use my rider, this unit allows me to get up close to things I used to have to use a weed eater for. There is no mess like a weed eater or the damage if you get too close. You could easily mow a decent size yard on fully charged batteries. It will mow 10” and taller grass if you let the blades get up to mowing speed first. The bagger is easy to install or remove. It folds up to take very little space. To fold up only takes twisting 2 knobs a quarter turn. There are a couple useful safety features including a removable “key”.The charge level of the batteries is easy to see while operating. The 1 lever deck height adjustment is very easy to use and well thought out. The unit I got came with two very large DEWALT batteries, they would’ve cost quite a bit on their own. Try it if you are considering a battery powered mower, it’s not underpowered at all.

This is a DeWalt DCMW220 electric mower with 2 of DeWalt’s best Flexvolt DCB609 batteries and a single charger for them. The mower is made in China, has a 20″ metal deck and a folding handle, and the front and rear wheels adjust easily with a single lever. The mower has 2 sturdy grab handles to lift it to a wall for storage after the handle has been easily folded down. The mower deck height can be quickly adjusted from 1.5″ to a high cut of 3.4″ with a single easy lever. The mower is designed for rear bagging (bag included), mulching (plug included), or rear discharge. The mower is available by Internet order only and came well packed and protected and with good instructions. The 2 batteries must be brought up to a full charge before use and that took 2 hours per battery for a 4 hour charge. This is a PUSH mower and is NOT self propelled but is easy to push and maneuver on level ground without a full grass bag. With the Flexvolt DCB609 batteries included the mower will run for about 55 minutes depending on grass thickness. The mower comes with a 90 day guarantee, 1 year free service, and a 3 year limited warranty. The batteries also have a 3 year warranty. I am impressed with the design and performance of this mower with these batteries and would recommend it.

Fantastic mower!!! This bad boy can hold it own. The sustainable power of these batteries is unbelievable. We cut more than a 1/4 acre and the grass was 5-inches high, we put it through the test and it accomplished every task we put it through. We had video but did not come through when posting..

Researched several battery-powered mowers before buying, but plastic chassis and unfamiliar manufacturer brand names turned me away. I also made note that several users were not happy with the run time of the DeWalt’s 5ah batteries. Having been invested in numerous DeWalt 20V tools, I have some “spare” batteries I can throw in should I run out of charge (such as a pair of 6ah batteries I have on hand). But I didn’t need them because I found the 9ah batteries provided with the mower were sufficient for our 1/3-acre lot. This thing cuts great, and it is a little loud when running, thus I continue to wear earplugs when mowing. If you’re not “into” the 20V line of DeWalt tools, select your battery size carefully, especially since this mower is delivered with only one charger (cannot charge both batteries simultaneously). Me? I have a few 20V chargers including two “fast” chargers. During my research, I did read a complaint or two about the bag size. Yes, it is a little small, but when it’s full, it is completely full. I got frustrated a bit with my gas-powered Craftsman rear bagger because when I tapped the bag with my foot to check if it was full, I’d stop, remove the bag, and find lots of unused space in it. Not so with the DeWalt. My only complaint is the handle assembly is a bit too wide. The plastic housing rubs against a neighbors fence on occasion. Otherwise, this thing runs through thick crabgrass which bogged down my gas-powered mower. BTW, this mower is expensive, but I’m pretty certain it will last a long time. I have yet to have a DeWalt 20V battery-powered product fail me.One more thought on the size of the bag. While it seems smaller than the Craftsman I used, I was emptying the Craftsman more often during each session. I’ve used the DeWalt mower several times now, and found I have to stop less often to empty the bag because it doesn’t give me the impression of a “false fill” when it’s full. I’ve also found I have 2 of 3 bars still showing when I finish (again, using the 9ah batteries). With the DeWalt fast chargers, recharging takes about 90 minutes.

Mows well and has enough power to finish my lawn (1/4 acre, lots of contours that take extra time). The 9AH batteries are a must though – any less wouldn’t cut it (pun intended). However, with 6AH batteries from other tools, I can extend cut time without the need to stop and recharge.

DeWalt always makes great products. This high quality mower does the job. The two batteries included give me about 35-40 minutes of runtime. This is perfect for my 10,000 sq foot yard.

I got this mower and am very happy with it. It was almost ready to go out of the box. A couple screws and knobs to install the handle and that was it. Batteries needed to be charged so it took about 3 hrs to get them ready. I was disappointed the charger could only charge one at a time hence the 4 stars. Would have given 5! Mower deck is steel and rolls easy with easy height adjustment. You can mulch or bag with this mower. Bag does come with it. Battery life is to be determined but worked for what I needed to mow. Great little mower all in all!!!

I have used this mower 3 times and love it so far! I haven’t charged it yet either. I use it to get where my lawn tractor can’t go, about 15 min. of mowing each time. I have thick Bermuda grass. I will charge it for next use as it is on 1 light on rh battery. The mower is very light and I don’t notice the lack of self propel. Neither do my boys. Great manicured cut as well, I only use mulching mode.Pricey, but the extra Flexvolt batteries will work well with my numerous other dewalt tools. Great job Dewalt! P.S. Glad I went with the larger batteries and 2 chargers instead of the 5 AH ones it was originally introduced with.

The mower is light weight and easy to handle, plenty of power and with 60 volt flex batteries cutting my yard with no problem. The one thing that would help is the battery cover lid staying open when you are putting the batteries in.

Wow I really love my new DeWalt battery mower. It’s more than half the weight of my previous power-propelled mower, equally the same amount quiet, has a nice clean look, and it’s so simple to operate. Getting the two 9.0Ah batteries is a game changer, but even with those I have to change batteries in order to mow by 1/2 acre yard. Can’t wait for the time I realize I don’t have to worry about gas, oil, spark plugs, etc.

I received this as from Dewalt sampling program to nbn test and review. First initial impression was it was made well. I work for a major lawnmower and snowblower company which is red. There slogan …. you can count on us. So I know about how lawnmowers are assembled. That being said DeWalt definitely has a good product here. Nice solid construction. Easy to use handle adjustment for deck height. Simple start up. If you have a well taken care of flat yard it mows good. Plenty of power to take care of small yards. Easy to use the bagger option and simple to empty. Mulcher works the best for my style. The batteries and single slot for charging the 2 batteries need to be upgraded in my opinion. Takes to long to charge one battery at a time. I think they should add two more batteries and make it self propelled instead or a push mower. The bail for the safety kill switch is very quick to kill the unit off. That could use a better design. This was the only battery operated lawnmower I have ever used. It would be best used for small flat lots well maintained. Really high grass the unit kills a lot.

Came with two 60v 9 Ah batteries. These last about 40-45 minutes in average height grass. Would be great for a well maintained lawn of less than an acre! Easy to use push mower. Ergonomically a good design. The only con is the “run time”

Works great, maybe more mower than i really needed. Went for the big batteries and no issues getting the work done. Very smooth and quiet, no bogging.

It lasts about 1/2 hour with two 9Ah batteries. I have 4 so it works fine for my 1acre lot.

This DeWalt battery powered mower has a number of great features, in addition to the obvious advantages an electric mower: no gas; no oil; no pull cord to start; and much quieter to operate! This came fully assembled with the exception of only two bolts which are inserted on either side of the handle (see picture). It really could not have been easier! It even has a mulching insert (see picture) if you do not want to use the supplied bag for grass clippings. It is pretty lightweight, but it has two carrying handles for easy transport (see picture). The handle height is also adjustable. For safety, there is a key that must be inserted in the handle (see picture) in order for the mower to run. Starting the mower is a two-step process, involving moving a lever and then pressing a button in the center of the handle. This is much better than my old gas mower! While the description indicates it is recommended for one-quarter acre yards, I use mine with a half-acre yard. The only thing I wish it had: a battery charger that would charge both batteries at the same time. Other than that one aspect, I highly recommend this mower!

I am able to mow my lawn in about 35 min and still have some power left in the batteries. This mower works best on a well kept lawn, not in heavy grass as it seems to drain the battery quicker. After 3 cuttings I am sold. I hope I never need a gas powered mower again as this mower is just that good.

Works exactly as advertised and as expected. Great for smaller yards and much quieter than gas mowers.
